Carts Before Horses....

My motto is "Never plan ahead...". That would save too much time and trouble....No fun at all.

This morning, about 3:00AM, I woke up with a plan in my head... OK. So I planned a little bit ahead.

I got out the keyhole saw and started working on putting the annex onto the workshop.

I marked where I wanted the inglenook to be. I drilled holes in the corners and then started sawing...

It would have been much easier if I had thought of this before I put the building together...Sooo much easier....

As it sometimes happens, I got it right on the first try. I have a lot of trimming out to do and painting and flooring and....and....and. But I have the confidence that it is all going to go together now.

The flooring that I installed fits perfectly into the main room.

I am going to have to do some timber work to hold up the second floor of the annex. I was going to have to do that in any case. There is no support to make it even with the main building. No problem.

I am not attaching it yet though. I decided to re paint the storage room to match the rest of the second floor and I still have some beams and trim to put in the top story.

It will be easier to do it before it is all glued together.

Zar suggested a built in seat, maybe with storage inside, at the back of the inglenook, where he is sitting. I agree.

I am also thinking that I may get rid of that silly recessed entryway. All it does is take up space.

I think that I am going to just do some framing around the edges of the openings. If I put much else in, it will block the view....

All right. You caught me. I am planning ahead....Kind of. At least, if I stop and think about it, I may cut out a few steps.

I still have to cover those two tiny windows from the inside.

I also have to finish the foundation stone work, before I finish painting all of it.

I am still debating putting an outside staircase to the second floor. After all, Tessie can just zap herself up there and so can her sister the spinner. They are probably the only two people that will use the loom.

I have to go think about it some more.... Planning ahead.....Kind of.....Sort of....

See you tomorrow.

Casey, Casey, so you got up at three? Amazing! At that time it was six for me and I was still sleeping soundly with a quiet, cool breeze coming in. ZZZZZZ! Where do you get all your energy? You must eat your wheaties, as they say.

Lucille, read again. I said I woke up at three....I didn't say that I got up. I sometimes get some of my best ideas at that time of morning and then go back to sleep...Until 4:30AM.LOL

I'm with you on this Casey! Waking up, even getting up, at three with a hundred ideas in my head.

Love how you just jumped right in to "get 'er done!" When I get home from work I am going to build my windows. No more planning or thinking about them! I'm going to just do it!

You always inspire me Casey. :D

Enchanting once again, Casey! I just love your novel ideas. That fireplace is over the top. Your inglenook concept is utterly charming. What character it adds to your already inspiring timbered house Go girl! : )
