The Night Shift.....

OK....Team Tess-Zar were at it all night long. I woke up with a headache from all of the pounding and chiseling that went on.

I suspected that they would ban me from the family room, so I set up a hidden camera in one of the spider plants on the kitchen counter. I set it to snap a photo every 15 minutes. Please don't tell the Terrible Two! If you tattle on me, there will be no more photos of their progress!

As you can see from this first shot, they made short work of the basic shingling....I suspect that there might have been some zapping going on...Plus, they used the largest shingles that they could find and I can't say that they are very careful about lining them up. The words willy nilly come to mind. There has to be a way to suggest to them that they cover the bendy places in the roof....

They covered the cottage with a towel this morning and weighted it down with cans of beans and soup from the cupboard. Under no circumstances, am I to peek. Dire threats were made... Nobody gets soup or beans for the duration...

I solemnly promised that I wouldn't peek. I didn't say that I wouldn't use a hidden camera.

The two of them work a lot like I do. They jumped from the half finished roof to the foundation. They got that covered with rocks, but not painted yet.

I heard them discussing whether or not there was a need for a fireplace of the same rocks. Nothing was decided as far as I could tell.

They have been paying attention. They stole the remainder of my egg carton stash. Reminder to self: "Eat more eggs!"

That was the end of the work for the evening. The photo time stamped 2:15 AM found them on the top floor of the cottage, playing tug of war with a chocolate dripped pretzel. I am not sure why they both wanted that particular one. There were more in a bag a few feet away. Maybe more chocolate on that particular one?

That reminds me. In order to keep them interested, I probably should leave cookies or fudge laying around. I have fudge in the fridge.

Tomorrow I am making Spritz Cookies. I have the stuff to make a couple of other kinds.

I do hope that I have enough to keep them full and working until a couple of days before Christmas....I wonder if, if I suggested it, they could get some of their friends to help. We need to speed up the process, if they want their usual three day Christmas bash. That means more cookies! Lots more cookies! I have to start baking now.

See you tomorrow.

You're always full of surprises, Casey! Now you're renovating another house and it seems that you plan to finish it before Christmas. What fun! There's always plenty of action going on around your place. Never a dull day with those little people. They sure keep you hopping! LOL!

Hmmm, do you think Tessie and Zar might consider a working holiday in South Africa???? My house building could do with some zapping of things in place, although the roof is still far in the future!!!!

My goodness, what good workers when they put their minds to it! Do you suppose they'd consider hiring out after the holidays? :)

No Lucille, I have nothing to do with this. Zar and Tessie are doing it. They start hissing and boo-ing whenever I go anywhere near the house in question.

Unfortunately for you Elga, those two don't stray further than a safari into the wilds of the back yard. I am going to be lucky if they don't decide to quit in the middle of this house. Wish me luck!

No Kathie, I am keeping them busy. Now that I have them working, I am going to keep them going as long as I can!

Boy, sounds like everyone needs Tessie and Zar's help. They don't realize it is costing you an arm and a leg in cookie ingredients!!! Pretty expensive workers if you ask me, that house is gonna wind up costing you in the neighborhood of hundreds of dollars worth of sugar. Pass a pretzel my way, pleeessse? ((HUGGS))
