I Found It!!!

It was meant to be... April and I went out to play this morning. We met for coffee and then went on to Bookman's Used Books from there.

Remember me telling you about the first piece of furniture that I did, copying a real piece from a book? It was the balsa bible box from a few days ago.

The book that I copied that from was one of the books that I found this morning.

I must have checked that book out of the Wilmot library a hundred times or more, when I first started doing miniatures. Back then I couldn't afford fancy books, but I could afford a library card.

That was the first one of the two books that I found this morning. "American Painted furniture 1660-1880" is the name.

As soon as I got it home, I started looking for the bible box....I found it!!!

Now you can see what I was working from. It was a black and white photo, but it had the length of the box and a description of the colors used in the notes by the illustration.

What fun to find it again and now I own it. MINE!!!

The second book was called "Wicker Design. It is chocked full of color photos of all kinds of wicker, from very early to a lot of present day designs. I am going to be very busy!

Tessie is already going through both books as fast as she can. She has so many bookmarks shoved between their pages that I doubt that I will be able to close either volume.

She isn't happy with me. I told her that I was still going to work on the half scale house....

I fear that I am going to have to lock her in a closet or figure out some other longer series on Netflix that she can get caught up in. There's always the old stand by...."Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Yup. Five or six seasons of that will keep her busy for a couple of days.

I am going to go turn her onto Spike and Angel. That should do the trick.

See you tomorrow.

Elga! I can't wait to see what you do with this one. There aren't too many measurments in it, but usually at least one and you can figure it out from there. I love this book.
