Gone Shopping.....

It's all April's fault. She made me go out shopping this morning...I didn't get any workroom sorting or minis done...None at all.

I looked around the house for something to entertain you. This is all I could come up with. It is a little cabinet that hangs on the wall just inside the family room.

It changes all of the time, so I am pretty sure that you haven't seen it before, at least not like it is now.

Periodically, I recover the panels at the back with new wallpaper.

The top shelf has an antique China half doll that I bought years ago....I only got the top half, so had to improvise the bottom half. For a while she was dressed in a black beaded flapper dress. When I tired of that, I did this dress. I glued some lace around her shoulders, a ribbon and silk roses in here hair and added a full skirt to the bottom.

She has a secret. Beneath the skirt is one of those boxes made from a crochet tube, covered with fabric to match the skirt. I should go look and see if there is anything hidden in there at the moment....Sometimes Tessie gets into things like that.

The middle shelf holds the crystal swan bassinet and a nice porcelain doll that I got at my very first Name National....Way back when....No...There were no dinosaurs present... The rug is really one of my crocheted afghans and the plant stand is one of the first ones that I made.

The bottom shelf holds one of my early brocade wing chairs and a table purchased from Pam Throop a long time ago. The rug is one of my designs and the afghan is one of mine that is crocheted with a #14 hook and mercerized cotton sewing thread.

I was going to show you the quarter scale gazebo, under a cheese dome that sits on the top, but I dropped the bottom and the gazebo is now in for repairs. Oops!

Anyway, that's about all I have to keep you entertained for this afternoon...Sorry about that.

See you tomorrow.
