I am getting serious about digging out the workroom. I was looking at some old entries that pertained to cleaning it and am now officially ashamed of myself.
Once upon a time, I had a clean floor and everything, well almost everything, had a place of it's own and was labeled.
Now it is one big pile that covers half of the floor and several shelves and tables.
Some of the mess is sorted into categories. At least that makes it easier to start.
I did find a treasure of two. You should have seen this Navajo silver bowl when I found it. I should have taken "before and after" shots. It was black. I am not sure why it wasn't in my southwestern room box. It used to live there. I will blame it on Tessie. She must have been playing with it and just dropped it when she lost interest.
It is hand hammered and set with turquoise. I am thinking that Zar might like it for the center of his table when Tessie takes the Bat Wing Stew pot away.
Here's proof of cleaning. I can see the top of the desk again...I will give it ten minutes before it is full again....See? I told you so.
I had to see what still has to be done to the Russian Cottage. All of the parts seem to be there...Except the samovar. I am going to have to go looking for that. Maybe it fell down behind the bookcase that it was sitting on.
Tessie found the basket of hedgehogs and a piece of cross stitch, done on 35 count linen. The design is actually an old Russian one. There is not a lot of work left to do on the outside. I still have to make windows and a door.
It needs a little more trim here and there.
Tessie also found the balalaika and has been entertaining me while I work....Have you ever heard "Witchy Woman" played on the balalaika and screeched by a small witchy woman? Interesting concept...Carlos Santana would be proud!
Anyway, I am making headway. I am determined to be able to walk around the room without tripping over piles of miscellaneous debris.
Wish me luck. I need it.
See you tomorrow.

It's so nice to the the Russian cottage again. I'm really looking forward to how it turns out.
Thank you for your comment Casey. It means alot to me. =)
Ohhh my goodness, I've so been there! I've recently just cleared up my room/workspace, and gosh, it feels great when it's finally done! It's just getting to that point that's the challenge.
I just love this little cottage!
casey I know this so well, everytime I tidy up and start a new project I promise myself this time I will remain tidy and not have mess but I always fail,
Just the thought of more cleaning makes me shudder. Even though I can now walk around in my workroom, there are still things that need sorting. How do you store your plant making supplies? Mine are all smashing in a drawer that is now full and won't close! I'm protecting my nadina in the box you sent me but now that I'm working on plants again everything is a mess! Good luck with your cleaning. I hope you have better success than I did! :D
What a c-u-t-e cottage, Casey! I can just imagine all of the "detailing" that you will be adding. Looks like another project that I will be following with delight. : )
