Looking for a Sofa....

Walter and I went looking for a new sofa for the living room this morning....May I say that the Chinese food that we had for lunch was really good....That's all we bought. So far, we haven't spotted anything that we want to live with.

Anyway, I didn't get any minis made this morning because of the sofa hunt.

When I got home, Tessie was rummaging through the kumihimo that I have done so far. This is the smallest diameter that I have done.

She sat there and complained, "You have to do better. Smaller thread, tighter pulling and it will be OK. Better yet, make me a disk and I will do it myself..."

Yeah....I'll get right on that....As soon as I finish three houses, a couple of stores and a trailer...

I have to admit, I am tempted to try to get it small enough for her...It is just a matter of what kind of thread I use.
Meanwhile, Zar has a different problem. I saw him inspecting the flowers that I planted in one of the beds yesterday.

He found a snail! Mind you, he doesn't want to get rid of them. He wants more....Escargot for lunch.

I will put that on my list of things to do....Round up more snails, so that Zar can have slugs for lunch!

Whilst I was taking photos, I got this one of the other side of the roof. Zar traded Tessie a smaller pumpkin patch for his large one. it fits better beside the apple tree. I am going to have to paint the outside black to match the railing.

As I am sitting here writing, I keep getting distracted. The squirrels are out running around the back yard today. It is much more fun to watch them, than to write. I did notice that I need to wash the window and rake up the peanut shells again...Yes. They are the best fed squirrels in Tucson. There is a method to my madness though. If I keep them well fed, they don't go after other plants and things on the porch that I don't want them to mess with. At least that's the theory.

I guess that I should stop rambling on and go do something worthwhile.....

See you tomorrow.

I must say your pavillion is absolute perfection! Love the apple tree and pumpkin patch. :D I now hav no excuses not to make one myself. Unless you count the fact that I have no idea right now where my pumpkins and trees are...
This cleaning is not fun. Not fun at all!

LOL!! Tell Zar to forget raising escargot. Some years ago, when I lived in California, the LA Times ran an article reporting that the big brown snails that run rampant there are the same ones that the French treasure for escargot. So I hopped on the idea, caught a bucket full, spend a couple of weeks fattening them up and cleansing them of pesticides on a diet of cornmeal and cabbage. Let's just say that it was time better spent on other endeavors. The end result of all that mess, plus cleaning, cooking, and deshelling the little buggers was about two tablespoonsful of what could have passed for shaved eraser bits.

And you're right about the squirrels. Lloyd feeds our squirrels expensive bird food with raisins, nuts, etc., and they are very well behaved. My friend hates squirrels, won't feed them at all, and has watched them eat every one of her potted plants and a good many of her hostas this summer.

I also love all the little squirrels, they are so much fun to watch. Tessie and Zar are so lucky to have you Casey, to do all that you do for them. You can tell them that I said that. Paula
