Happy Mom's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! If you are one or aren't, it doesn't make a difference. You surely must know at least one mother that you like a lot.

I went to meet Seth and April for breakfast this morning at Beyond Bread. A good time was had by all. They brought me a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle of an antique English dollhouse interior.

I did make April promise to come over and help me put it together.....1000 pieces? April, do you really think that my attention span is that long???

After, we went to Bookman's Used Books a couple of doors down the mall. April bought me a couple of used books. Don't laugh. That's what I wanted.

The first one is Art and Stitchery from 1974. I remember checking that one out of the library. Lots of "modern" stitchery. I was teaching that kind of thing back then. Really fun.

The second one is a Dover edition of "Needle Made Laces and Net Embroideries". That one was originally published in 1938. This edition was reproduced in 1984. Every once in a while I get a bee in my bonnet to do needle made lace. This one has a few stitches that I haven't yet tried.

All in all, it has been a good Mother's Day so far. Walter left me a card, a Starbucks gift card, and he let me pick out my own orchid plant earlier in the week.

I am out of here for the rest of the day. Yes...Tessie is wearing a ninth apron....But that's another story.

See you tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day, Casey! Thank you for all the nice tutorials you gave out recently. Tessie's aprons are so pretty and colourful! I think I'm inspired to make some for myself with a few minor adjustments.

Happy Mother's Day to you! I love used books too! Yesterday, inspired by you, I bought a couple of Chrysnbon kits. I'm a little nervous about making them, but I'm looking forward to having the final products. :-) Wish me luck!
