Here is the second side of the chest. I finished painting the vines. Katie suggested a dragonfly or two....I wonder why? Could it be that it's her favorite buggy thing? I will get to those later today, along with the marble top.
Right now real life is interfering. Monday clean up. Tessie is no help, so I will be busy for a while....
The first thing this morning, I cleaned the shelves in the laundry closet. I found a tin box full of mineral specimens that my dad collected a long time ago. I knew that there were arrow heads and other miscellaneous rocks inside. I forgot that there were some cut slabs.
I found a bunch that will make great table tops. I did a bunch of these in the 80s. I only have a couple left and they are both being used in rooms.
One is in the southwest roombox and the other is in the living room with the working TV.
You will have to poke the photo to see the one that Tessie is propping up, clearly. It is lots of fossilized snail shells. As soon as she saw it, it was hers. No question. No arguments. I have to agree that this is something that is pure Tessie style.
The other two larger ones aren't anything special, but will make nice table tops anyway.
The small triangular one is going to cause trouble.....Zar spotted it for what it was immediately. It is fossilized dinosaur bone. He has been trying to get it away from Tessie for the past hour.
Tessie just wants it because he does. He wants it because he loves old bones and relics.
I am staying out of this. I suspect that Tessie will give it to him. She likes the shells and a girl can have just so many fossils lying around.
Maybe she will concent to letting Zar have a table made before I finish the townhouse....Or maybe not. Who knows? Kindness of her heart....Sure...
Back to work....See you tomorrow.

:D ....cause you know I love Dragonflies:)
Poor Zar! He always gets the short end of the stick, doesn't he...
I am looking forward to seeing what you make with these stone slabs. As always, it is fun to watch the process!
Lovin' that little snake! How cool to find the fossils. I can see why Tessie wants those. Love the photo of Zar trying to talk Tessie into giving it to him. So cute!
That Tessie, she knows how to play.

There's no particular reason why I chose today, but I figured I should let you know how much I enjoy reading this blog. It's almost like I know Tessie, Zar and their daily quarrels. I'm just a stalker, but I am sat in the bushes with my hands on plain sight, promise!
The chest of drawers is awesome! It all seems to work together and it looks so pretty. I love it!!! =D
Poor Zar, never truly gets first dibs on anything....=/
=)
I love the detail in the vines and bugs. I agree with Katie, love dragonflies. Those stone slabs are great, even the plainer ones. I just ordered some stone beads hoping that they will work as table legs.
