Next she found the brass bed and tried that with Spike as a bed warmer.....
Still not enough...
I was bundled up in bed trying to crochet tiny things with stiff fingers. I was working on a piece of clothing for Tessie. Since I am winging it, I can't really tell what it is until I finish. So far it is orange, raglan sleeved yoke, with a yellow ruffle around the shoulders. It can be a jacket or a cape or even a fancy Snuggie....I wonder why Snuggies don't usually have ruffles? They should have ruffles.
Tessie, sitting up in bed, yelled across the room, "Forget about crocheting. I need to borrow a sock, a scarf and a cat...."
I just shook my head, laughed and kept crocheting, whilst whispering bad words under my breath. There were puffs of white vapor coming out of my mouth as I spoke.
Then I heard her rummaging around in my closet....I watched this scene unfold. She sidled up to Mookie, pulled on one of my "sleeping bag" socks, wrapped a scarf around herself and snuggled down beside him.
At first he looked a bit disgruntled. I could see the wheels turning in his brain. Hmmmm. Warm scarf....
Kind cat that he is, he snuggled up next to her and started to purr.
I thought that it was only fair that Mookie got to share the scarf. I looped it around his neck....He woke up just long enough to approve.
Then he put his head back down and both of them dozed off.
The gas is supposed to be back on within the next 48 hours.....Until then, you will find all of us in the bedroom, under the covers. It is warming up slowly.....
See you tomorrow.

OMG did you say the gas was supposed to be BACK on...oh Casey!!! Not good.
Casey, could you please tell me what size needles you're using and are you using embroidery yarn or one-ply wool. By the way, I hope things warm up soon for you. It must be terrible when you're not used to cold weather and with no gas.
At least you are in very good company! What a sweet cat...and Tessie will keep you laughing for sure. Hope your heat returns soon!
Lucille, I am fooling around with very fine one ply crewel wool so I am using a #10 hook. Usually I use vintage mercerized cotton sewing thread and a #14.
Brrrr! You must be freezing with no heat! Do you at least have an electric blanket? I love mine.
I'm trying to teach myself to knit. It's not going too well.
I would LOVE to make a scarf. Real size AND mini. Got any tips? :D
NO POWER? Bless your hearts..tell Tessie to get a fire going, with that wand! And if she has the cat, what do you have to keep you warm?
I have five kitties and they sure do make great bed warmers! Only problem is, once they're in the bed with me, I can't move!
Casey, I forgot to tell you that Mookie and Tessie look absolutely adorable all snuggled up together like that. That is the cutest photo shoot I've ever seen of them!
Casey, Who needs heat when you still have the internet and Tessie to play with :) I am amazed at your crochet in mini. I'm a newbie to crochet and all fumble fingers!
Stay warm! Daisy
Casey, you're so funny!
My goodness I hope you get heat before the 48 hrs.
Casey! I love your site. What a wonderful kitty Mookie is! Tell Tessie she is wonderful too!
That is the most disgustingly adorable picture of Tessie and Mookie! I think you should print it out and frame it.
I hope you get gas back soon. My family in Alamogordo is freezing too. Apparently they had 6" of snow.
Casey, the pictures of Tessie snuggles up with Mookie, brought a huge smile to my face. Keep Warm xxxx
I hope you at least have a fireplace? I don't know what I am going to do if the heater is down on a winter's night.
Hi Casey I really hope you have gas back again now while I am writing this... You did well by staying in a warm to bed ;)
Mookie is so adorable with Tessie, he just loves her, doesn't he? :)
Hugs Jollie
