This WILL Work!.....

I was getting food ready for the witches mini meeting that is here this afternoon. I looked up when I heard a lot of puffing and panting in the vicinity of the family room table.

This is what I saw.....Tessie was in one of her "I'd rather do it by hand." moods.

The puffing and panting was from the strain of moving a house on her back....Yes. You heard me. On her back!

She managed to put it down without wrecking it. Then she turned to glare at me and announced, " This house is already started. It is small. And it will work! I want a tiny house. This is a tiny house. It is 8 X 13 on the ground floor. That's 104 square feet/inches."

She said all of this while climbing over all of the spare parts for the house that were conveniently stored on the ground floor.

This is one of the kits that Greenleaf put out for their annual contest a few years ago. This is as far as I got....
Attention span problem.....What attention span. I don't have one.

Anyway, I thought it would make a good Russian country cottage at the time.

I put the onion dome shape on the roof. It was originally just a round arch shape. I got the roof on and some of the shingles on one side then something distracted me. It may even have been something to do with real life....Who knows?

Tessie immediately started making plans this morning.

See the space that she is sitting in, on the second floor? That's where the bed will go.

Her arm is on the roof line. In the daytime, the bed will be stored in the crawl space. It will be pulled out at night. That way, more space during the day.

I cut the side out of the bottom floor. When I stopped, I think that I was going to put a fireplace/kitchen area there. The chimney will be outside the wall. I have a photo somewhere of a real Russian cottage that is arranged that way. It only adds a couple more feet to the end of the house. Maybe another 8 to 10 square feet.

After Tessie rested from dragging the house around, she went back and found my file on Russian houses.

It looks like there will be no room for argument. At least not until she realizes how very small this house is compared to the townhouse.

I am going to try to do a bit on both houses every day. That way when she changes her mind again, and she will, I will be ahead of the game.

This is the plan so far. Wish me luck! I am going to need it.....Please don't remind her about the Magnolia that is hiding under the bed....

See you tomorrow.

Too funny! She's gonna need a hot bath later on when her little back starts hurting! Poor Poor Tessie......

This looks really interesting Casey, love the roofline.

There's a presently a competition (1:1) to design a tiny house with max footprint of 107 sq ft, maybe Tessie should enter this little beauty - it certainly qualifies

Oh I giggled at the pic of Tessie moving the house on her back, she's the most determined creature isnt she!! I dont know where you get the energy or the time for all your many wonderful ideas & projects, but yet again, Im certain this one will look great when Tessie has finished ordering you... sorry, 'suggesting how to' finish it LOL

Casey, that house has a beautiful profile! I love your onion dome roofline! At least the tiny houses are easy to store, right? I tell myself that as I contemplate getting another small house kit....
Good luck! I know you will have something fabulous all done by tomorrow!

Norma, unfortunately, the second story adds to the square footage. It will be way over the 107 mark with that added.

I'm intrigued by the onion roofline. Can't wait to see more.

Muy buen idea hacer una casa rusa con esta estructura.
Vas a tener que contratar a un fisioterapeuta para Tessie despues de este esfuerzo.
