If a Tree Falls in the Woods......

I don't know what you do, but I just build another one. This morning I built a tree well and painted all of the stonework for the base of the dome.

Then I started building a tree......I cheated a bit. I dislike using tons of wire just for one tree. I rummaged around in the garage and found an old branch of fake flowers with three branches in a suitable shape. I tore off all of the foliage and flowers. I cut it to the size that would just fit inside the dome. Then I poked a hole in the tree well, put it it place and put the dome over the top, to make sure that it fit.

It did, so I continued with some #18 covered floral wire. I twisted it around the stem from the bottom up and when I got to where I wanted another branch I shaped it and cut it off.

When I finished doing that, I wrapped the whole mess in a lot of florist's tape, also from the bottom up.(The tree isn't glued in the hole yet.)

When I was satisfied with that, I started rubbing in patching plaster with my fingers. Here you see the tree partially covered. I will wait for the first coat to dry and apply a second coat. I will keep going with it until I am satisfied that it looks sufficiently like a tree.

That's all I am going to tell you about it for today. Stay tuned and see what happens.

Now about that other problem.....

I put a coat of Rain Gray over the icky lime green in the kitchen bay. I think that it is looking better already. You can still see some of the green if you squint.

Tessie and Zar moved in whilst the paint dried and had cookies and drinks. Poor Tessie......The bodyguard is still hanging around. He threatened Zar a while ago. He brandished the sword and said something that none of us understood....I imagine that it was ancient Persian.

I guess I am going to have to interfere and find a place to keep him at bay for a while. The first step will be to confiscate the sword and dagger. After that, I think it will be more do-able.

I am going now to find a place for him to be. He will just have to learn to behave himself. Who knew that a cut rate prince could be so troublesome?

See you tomorrow.

Your little cut rate prince reminds me of Carlos Montoya in the Princess Bride. Perhaps he has some things to settle before he will settle down?

Love your tree.

If the great tree makes a sound when it falls in the nite. . .
Does it sigh with a fall or fall with a sigh. . .
