All You Need Is Love....

Back to work. It was time to get serious about finishing the pod chair this morning. If I didn't do it today, it would probably go hide somewhere and not be seen again for a couple of months.

I enlisted Tessie's help with the top. I convinced her it was just like a May Pole. She could go round and round and whistle a merry tune as she did it.... That lasted all of a minute and 47 seconds before she tired of the game.

I had to decrease the spokes again. I did it a couple of times in order to make it thin enough to match the original photo.

I confess that I got lazy at the very end and wrapped the top part instead of trying to decrease it to the proper size.

Tessie had to test out the new rya rug. She is thinking of putting a spell on it and making it into a magic carpet.

Why is it, she looks like she is riding a skate board? I have visions of her flying low, down the sidewalk on it. I may have to try to talk her out of that idea. I don't really want her whizzing around my head on a carpet whilst I am trying to work.

After I got her off of the rug, I had her help figure out what kind of fabric to put on the cushions for the pod chair.

She did it. How "sixties" can you get? She dug into my big people stash and found the fabric that I used for a golf tee bag for Walter's Christmas present a few years ago.

Walter is one of the biggest Beatles fans around. He will not miss the scraps and he will like the chair. For sure.

The inner bottom of the chair seat is some packing Styrofoam, covered with "All You Need Is Love" fabric. The top face of the cushion is one of the four of them in the style of "Yellow Submarine" and the back cushions are kind of Andy Warhol portraits of the fab four.

All You Need Is Love!

See you tomorrow.

You rock!!! It turned out wonderful. The pillows are perfect. Who knew there was such a fabric. I wondered how you were going to get that narrow section at the top. It looks perfect.

The fabric was at Walmart a few years ago. They had four different ones and I bought a half yard of each. BTW.....Walter approves.
