Take Your Goggles and Get Out!

Now I ask you, is that any way to treat a person that just traded you a pair of goggles for a whole brass bed frame and a wicker chair? It is if your name is Tessie.

This is how she went about getting rid of the man wearing the goggles. Sometimes she is soooo rude.

She proceeded to pull all of the hangings from the bed this morning and when Zar sat down on the bed for a minute after I got the sheets and pillows on it, she didn't waste any time.... Pulling him off the bed by one foot and dragging him across the room was the main thing on her agenda.

I think that she was afraid that he would want the bed back.

The mattress on the bed is a couple of layers of ceiling tile glued together and padded with bonded quilt batting. I then covered it with some natural linen. The sheets and pillowcases are made from linen handkerchiefs.

Of course, the first thing that Tessie had to do was test it for bounce. She does love a bed with bounce-ability.

She jumped up and down for a few minutes with Spike and then she announced, "Either you are going to have to get rid of this canopy contraption or leave a hole in it for head room when I am in the mood to bounce."

"Whatever, Tessie." I answered. Hey. If she wants no canopy, that just means less work for me.

I am sure that she will change her mind at least three more times before the house even gets here, so I'm not holding my breath.

Meanwhile, I started embroidering the pillowcases.

I used the edge of the handkerchief for the hem of the case. Then, using ecru sewing thread, I did a stem stitch in a wavy line all the way around the edge. I went a second time around and added lazy daisy stitches and french knots in a vine pattern. I used a darker shade of thread or you wouldn't be able to see it at all.

If she ever decides what colors she wants in the room, I may make another more colorful pair for her. For now these will have to suffice.

I am kind of at a standstill until the house kit arrives. Tessie isn't standing still. She is on pins and needles and jumping up and down......"Is it here yet?" "Nope." "Is it here yet?" "Nope." It's like the proverbial broken record.

See you tomorrow.

Your pillow cases are beautiful! Tessie doesn't deserve them. As for bouncing on the bed, I'm with her on that!

The design on your pillow case is so pretty. Could it be done with beads? :D
