She plonked herself down on my lap table in her chase, covered herself with my best silk afghan and started blowing..... Let the tissues land where they may!
Both of the cats have been playing nurse. First it was Widget. He was keeping an eye on Tessie. It is very unusual for her to sit still long enough for him to actually talk to her. The only trouble with him is, every time I sneeze he gets scared and runs for cover. He is such a chicken.
Mookie, on the other hand, stays with us through thick and thin. He is just hoping that someone will get hungry and he can beg a snack.
Anyway, I got bored and started another rug.....I know. I have many rugs started already. My excuse is that pile of silk thread. I want to use it up. I am not really crazy about working with silk, but I can't justify tossing it away. Soooo, I am doodling.
I found a scrap of # 24 congress cloth and marked off 95 stitches each way. That makes the rug about 4" square. I did an outer border of dark green. Then I left a space of 5 rows and did an inner border of the same color. I found the center of the sides by drawing first diagonal and then vertical and horizontal lines. That also finds my center for the rug. I did a zig zag pattern of stitches in brown from the center to the corners. I let the corners just be a continuation of the pattern.
Next I went back and did medium brown, kind of a camel color on either side of the zig zag. I did one stitch of orange in the bottom center of each triangle.
Now Tessie has decided she is going to pick the colors. The color that she has in her lap looks suspiciously close to the color of the chase....
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? She is getting really good at coercing me into doing things for the un-built Spiderwort Manor. Could it be that she thinks I will have to build it just to have some place to put all of this stuff that she has talked me into making? There is a method to her madness....
I am off to stick my toes under the blanket and do some more thread doodling.
See you tomorrow.

Get well soon! Here's hoping you recover before Tessie... You never know what she'll try to talk you into while your head's full of gunk. ;-)
You had to mention that, didn't you, Kat? Now I am going to have to be doubly awake and aware of what is going on. And my head is getting gunk-ier by the minute!LOL
Sad to see Tessie so ill... make sure to take her to the specialist.
Bouquet of virtual flowers to you both, hope you both feel better soon.
Same get well wishes from me. But I think Tessie should recover 1st and then she can take care of you with tea from her shop. You know, some of those insect or stale cabbage tea is actually good for cold and runny nose. That Afghan is amazing by the way. Good to know that you sew from outside in 1st too.
Sans, It just depends on the mood that I am in as to where I start. I do like starting on the outside for at least the first row so that I can see how big the rug is going to be. I finished the seven row border and now I am moving to the center since I am designing as I go. I need to see what that is going to look like next.
Take care, and make sure you get to put YOUR feet up, don't let that Tessie have you running after her, you know how coniving she is! Good luck wishes for quick recovery coming your way :)
Hope you're feeling better soon! :)
