Road Trip!

How many times can one stand to hear "Are we there yet?" in the span of two hours? I stopped counting after the first half hour.

About a half hour into the trip we couldn't stand the question, so we decided to stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. We took Tessie in. We ordered breakfast. She kept drooling over the stand up menu of chocolate cake and ice cream....

I told her that was not breakfast. She shared some of mine and then drifted over to the edge of the table where they always put a peg game for kids to play with so that they don't get bored. Unfortunately, that same photo of the chocolate cake and ice cream was propped up behind the game. Cracker Barrel doesn't play fair. I can just imagine how many pieces of cake they sell to parents so that their kids will be quiet.

When we finished, we wandered around the store a bit and then got back on the road. Tessie refused to return to the bag. She perched on the dashboard with Spike. She Oh-ed and Ah-ed over the new sights and sounds. Spike barked a lot.

She got tired after a while and went back to the bag for a long nap......Please don't tell her that we stopped at a bookstore and a golf store. We checked and both she and Spike were still sleeping. We stopped at Arizona Mills. The two of them were snoring loudly, so we went to a movie. Don't tell her about that either. She probably wouldn't have liked it anyway. We saw"Taking Woodstock". There were no witches or wizards in it....

When we finally got to the hotel, she climbed out of the bag. She proceeded to make a bed, or maybe I should say sleeping bag from the socks that I had been knitting on the way. She is happily yelling for me to change the channel on the TV about every five minutes.

I should have kept her awake along the way. This is going to be a very long night. There don't seem to be any witchy shows on anywhere. I also should have brought along Zar's mesmerizing crystal....Should have.....

See you tomorrow.

I can't decide whether you were absolutely brilliant taking Tessie along on the road trip - or absolutely NUTS! If she gets you into too much trouble, let us know where to send bail $ In the meantime, I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show...er I mean the ride... (will they let you take a camera into the jail cells in the USA?)

I tried that cake on Monday... at breakfast. I've had better.

Looks like you're having a fun trip so far. :-)

You knit socks too!? Is there anything you can't do! :) These are so cute!
Tessie on a road trip! What a great post! Love the photos and the story!
Thanks for your tips about removing the wallpaper from my dollhouse. I'll be working on that tomorrow.
Blessings,
Kathi

She won't let you have a rest by the sounds of it!
I am guessing that this may be the last long trip for Tessie

I am going to be checking in on the Zar and the cats shortly. I am sure that he is enjoying his quiet time at home while Tessie is on vacation with you and Dad.

Ah, hindsight. Too bad they didn't sell mesmerizing crystals at Cracker Barrel. Tessie sure does look cute in that sock. I bet she is going to try to claim it for the Spiderwort Manor now.
