This is the End....

The chimney end of the house is what I am talking about. By hook or by crook I was going to get that part together today. I think I need more hooks and crooks. I also need less supervision.

The two miscreants are back together, unfortunately. They saw what I was working on and decided to help......HELP!!!! Tessie took her place in the window at the top of the stairs. Zar stayed at the bottom. He isn't happy with the narrowness of the steps. He can just barely squeeze up them. They both hung out the windows and made helpful comments....."Needs more glue!" and "Are you sure that goes there?" were repeated quite often by both of them.

The rest of the house has been a snap compared to this end. It is kind of in layers. The part where Zar and Tessie are sticks out a board's width from the chimney piece. And yes, it is supposed to.

I then had to put the rest of the chimney together and the roof piece back on. As usual, if all else fails, I read the directions. See that hole in the front of the chimney? I waisted at least 20 minutes looking for that little piece. Then I picked up the last roof piece for that side and realized that I had it in my hand. Duh!!!

From this view, you can clearly see the silly seam running down the side of the house. I think that they should have made the stairway just a bit wider and made the seam stick out at least a half inch from the chimney. As it is, it kind of looks like the builder didn't measure right. Strange plan.

Anyway, that roof piece alone is enough to make a person crazy. You have to do a whole lot of taping and clamping to make it stay where it is supposed to be.

I think that I am going to walk(0r maybe run fast) away from it for the rest of the day and take up where I left off tomorrow.

I have a good excuse. Today is April's birthday and I have to finish her present. Seth's birthday was a few days ago, so we are going out to dinner tonight to celebrate both.

I am forgetting about the Clockwork Cottage. Let the two of them hang out the windows and make unkind remarks about the sloth of the builder. I don't even care!

See you tomorrow.

You are too funny! I can see how we need to take a break from all of this mini-ness once in a while! I'm going cross-eyed making a shell mirror!

Happy Birthday to yours! Hope you have a nice relaxing dinner!

I am just looking forward to seeing how this house, which you are building from scratch evolves into a fantastic home for Zar. And happy birthdays to your love ones!

Sans, this is the Glencroft kit from Greenleaf, or it was when I started. It seems to be taking on a life of it's own with all of the additions that I have made to it. Thanks for the compliments!
