I believe that Zar and Beau have voted to dump the Midnight Blue color that I tried on one wall before I dressed the bed. It has to be a lighter color so that the headboard will stand out.
I taped up a spare piece of plywood to see if I would like the staircase wall better without the cutouts. I definitely do. The room needs more wall space to put furniture against. Zar needs a chest of drawers or an armoire to store his clothes.
I decided to repaint the walls of the dining room while I was waiting on the bedroom. I went through all of my paints and looked for colors that I thought might do. I did Tessie's trick of putting three colors on the wall to see which I liked best. I think that we have both been watching way too much HGTV(House and Garden Television). You see that on just about every decorating show. Amazingly, the designer is always right. She manages to change the mind of the homeowner, even if the color that she likes is one that they positively hate. Personally, I think that the producers tell the people that they will repaint for free afterwords if it is yucky. Just a theory. The designer can't always be right.....
OK. Back to painting. I decided on a discontinued color of Ceramcoat called Georgia Clay. It's a little redder and a bit darker than terracotta. The photo is not completely the true shade, but close.
Am I the only one that has noticed a drastic reduction in color selection of Ceramcoat paint at Michael's? It seems to be about 1/3 of the space that they used to carry. I noticed the other day that they are carrying something with the brand name "Craft Paint". That is fifty nine cents a bottle. I bought one bottle to see if the stuff is worth using or throwing out. I haven't tried it yet though.
Anyway, before the paint even had a chance to dry, the conspiracy twins were back in there. They brought a smaller table, dogs to clean the floor if they dropped anything, and a pizza. They reported that the paint did the requisite job of making them hungry. They've heard it said that red stimulates the appetite. They also say that blue and green are calming.
Maybe I should paint everything green and blue. If the stories are true, I could lock Tessie and Zar in a blue room and get masses of work done. Somehow I think that this is just another one of the dynamic decorator myths that they spread to get you to pay them to repaint.
I seem to be rambling. I need to get back to work. Where's the blue paint?
See you tomorrow.

Your stories of Tess and Zar are so cute. I don't have a little family for my house yet. I'm thinking I might find a mermaid or maybe just have a dog and cat? I don't like parrots but might have one to add a little drama to my beach tales! The dog could ward off pirates and the cat could keep the bird in his place...
Your stories have me thinking about this - seriously! :)
I definitely love Zar's bed and the terracotta or what's its name. colour. A blue room sounds a suitable idea to cool somebody's temper. Better if it has padded walls.Hugs
What about painting Zar's room a shade of green to match the bedspread??
Orange stimlates the appetite, too....I painting our real living room years ago to see if it helped me to eat? LOL.....It makes it very 'warm' in here....But I dunno about the eating part, hahaha
And all I can say about the paint at Michaels...the cheaper it is, the more coats you will need:)
...we had pizza for dinner, too:)
Yo me decantaría por un azul claro, para que destaque la cama y calme los animos de tessi y Zar
I think you are right- Zar needs wall space for some more furniture. I love the color in the dining room- love the dogs waiting for some pizza even more :)
I think the new colors of paint look good. :-)
