I finished the cutting and gluing of the rocks on the outside and was about 3/4 of the way done on the inside back wall when Tessie popped in. She was "loaded for bear" as they say. With clockwork water pistol in hand she pounced to the roof of the box.
She practically bellowed, "Where is that varmint?" in her best Yosemite Sam voice. It really sounds silly coming from her, but she thinks that it makes her sound ferocious.
I told her that I had no idea where Zar was, if indeed that was who she was looking for.
Then she realized that I was working on something new that was not for her. Oops!
"What's this?" she asked in a not too nice tone of voice. I told her that it was going to be part of a castle scene of some kind.
"What do you mean, of some kind? Are you saying that you are working on some worthless piece of junk when you should be finishing the Clockwork Cottage so that you can start on Spiderwort Manor for me???" I think that indignant is the word that best described her attitude. Did I mention that she definitely needs an attitude adjustment? Well, she does!
She jumped down and went inside to see what I was doing. I went into the kitchen to fetch a bottle of water. When I came back I blindsided her.... I quickly flipped up the front of the box and fastened it on top.
She dropped the pistol and started pounding on the glass. "You let me out of here right this minute!" The glass is soundproof. I couldn't hear her. I was lipreading.
Zar and the dogs showed up. They had been watching the whole thing from his workshop.
Tessie grabbed the water pistol from the floor as if the water would go through the glass....."That's it Tessie, the window needs washing. Wait a minute. Let me get you a paper towel." She was fuming.
Zar had his welding apron and goggles on. He had a steel rod in his hand. "Please let me put bars on the window, Please? We could keep her contained."
Maybe he has something there. I don't think I want to try it though. If she gets out, we will be the ones in trouble.....Right now I am just trying to find a peaceful end to this. I know I shouldn't have locked her in, but I just couldn't resist the temptation. I really should look before I leap. Make that, think before I lock.
This is going to be difficult. I have to let her out before I can finish the inside. Hmmmmmm....On second thought, maybe working on the Clockwork Cottage is not such a bad idea. I need to think on this for a bit.
See you tomorrow.

Oh Casey! That's perfect!! A mini torture room!!! Or a room from a mental hospital.....With bars!! Aweee...come on, you know you want to!!! Hehe
Katie, I was thinking torture chamber myself....I have to figure out how to get Tessie to leave first. That will be the torture part.(Mine)LOL
I love how even the dogs look like they think it's a good idea to keep her locked in there. It's gonna take a huge bribe to get her to forget about this one!
Igloo indeed, I just don't understand how anyone can fail to recognize that this is a cave. Cave is the French spelling/word for a type of cellar built under many of the houses, usually holding wine.

They built them by digging two parallel trenches into which they laid stones for the walls, the dirt in the center of the trenches was shaped into a dome and used as the form on which the roof was built. After the stone work was done the dirt inside the cave was dug out. Voila, a barrel shaped cave.
Karin, thanks so much for the fabulous flickr photo find! Those are wonderful reference photos.
Oh dear! That Tessie is so bossy!
Can't leave her in there for long though huh?
I luv the doggies, look how expectant they are that Zar is going to do something!
This is too funny!!
Luv it Luv it!!!!
I like the idea of a mini torture chamber Casey.. Mind you what if Tessie manages to get Zar in there. It doesn't bear thinking about. LOL x
Love the case, it's beautiful so far and looks like fun to make.
I like it so much i was telling my friend Debie from Piskies and Poppets. She emailed today to say she is sending me two as a present.
I really love what you are doing with this and the gargoyles are wonderful. I think i read they were pens? I will have to google them and see if i can find some too. They would look great in one of the room boxes i started today.
I can see its rock but the igloo idea is equally as good for one of these cases.
Nikki x
