I changed course and painted the end of the cottage that I spackled a couple of days ago. I am Thinking that the light ivory color is a bit boring now that I see it on the wall.
I am wondering if Balthazar would be one to have his house painted a darker color. Maybe a terracotta or another 'earthy' color would be better.
Here's the pallet that I used for the rocks. They still need some finishing touches, but you can get the idea. Yup. Boring. I don't think that I am in the mood today. If I keep going on this, I will probably be sorry. Thus the distraction.
I am in mourning. That may be why I don't want to do minis. My mini color TV died the other day, thanks to the government. The poor thing just spits out static and a blank stare. When I wasn't using it in the burglar's room box, I sometimes carried it around. It had it's own TV cozy that I made for it. It knew that it was loved. Now I am going to have to lay it to rest in peace.
With the passing of the little TV, I have to resort to using the larger one. I can't possibly make a cozy for it. It would take me decades.
Over the years, when I get bored, I doodle on needlepoint canvas making cozies for different things that I don't like to look at. Why can't they make remote controls and other gadgets cute or pretty instead of industrial looking? Since they aren't willing to make them look better, I will.
Yesterday I started making a "remote cozy" for the bedroom TV that I watch whilst doing minis.
Here you see the back and one side. It's a work in progress. It will probably take a day or two. At least it is something to keep me going creativly since I am not in the mood for minis at the moment. Tomorrow I will be back to mini-ing. Promise. Today I am in mourning. Alas poor little TV....
See you tomorrow. I'll be the one wearing all black.

So sorry to hear of your loss... your mini tv looked very loved and will be missed, I'm sure. Please know that my thoughts are with you at this tough time. ;)
No need to mourn as the next generation of I-Pods and cell phones will come with TV tuners built in. Mini TVs will be included in all the mini electronic toys and they will be much smaller and thinner than the old analog TVs.
Oh Casey!! Sorry to say...But I'm having a good laugh over here.....You know you bored when your making a cozy for the remote!! LOL!! I do love all the colors and patterns though, So much better than the traditional gray! haha
OK, this is going to sound awful, but don't go throwing that tv away....there may be 'fun' parts in there that Zar could use!! I know how much you love that little tv, so I'm sending a big hug your way!!
And....I agree....Zar needs more color, But what does He want, lol....Gray seems to be a fitting color for an inventor!
Katie, I already tried to get inside a 5" screen that I have....It wouldn't let me in. I tried everything but stomping on it. I fear that the 2" will be worse. As for the cozies, I have made quite a few over the past 20 years. It is just something fun to do. It's like doodling on a note pad only with thread.:-)April is trying to get me to make a new one for her new tv right now. I have to get the measurments before it's a go. They need to standardize remotes...
Karin, I know that there are going to be smaller ones coming. My complaint is that I will have to rebuild that part of the Burglar's room box to make a new one fit. I had to do it for this one too. This is the second one to go in that room box. I have an I-pod that plays short videos, but that one is not worth the trouble of changing the room to suit.
Jill....Thanks for the sympathy. I needed that. LOL
Lol. Wht can't we just keep the new and old and let them mix together. So annoying when we are not given the choice.
I love your cosey and think it's a great idea.
When i was much much younger i made covers for everything. I'd spend hours covering the handles on my brushes and make-up brushes so they were prettier. Plus i'd paint all the lipstick tubes to match and anything else in my makeup bag.
I think your skills for covering are great and wish i had the patience and skill you have with sewing.
Hi! Thanks for the words about my blogs :), I am just like Katie, I´m having a good laugh! Your idea of covering all that things "grey and industrial" is so funny LOL
Lots of mini hugs
Ana
What a bite! The government has unwittingly ruined a great mini. What jerks!
