It didn't do a lick of good. I talked til I was blue in the face. She still insisted that she belongs in the attic and what is more, she had the nerve to invite a couple of friends. Even though the shop isn't open they are up there comparing crystal balls and reading each other's palms. The little spinner witch from the attic at the warehouse even brought a big jar of fermented owl eyes to snack on and Esmerelda has been haggling over the money owed her for letting the gypsy read tarot cards at the warehouse.
I give up. I am going to let the three of them fight it out. Maybe they will all leave. Wish me luck.
I spent the morning out shopping for yarn for Christmas socks. Not the kind that you hang on the chimney, the kind that you put on your feet.
Several years ago I started making socks for my daughter and her then boyfriend for Christmas every year. They got married and the tradition continues. Every year rain or shine, I have to come up with two pair of handmade socks for them. I am not complaining. I love knitting socks. Two years ago I made Seth a pair that were patterned from orange and brown variegated yarn. Last year I made him a new pair and when he opened the package there was a pair knit from the identical yarn! He has a pair and two spares, so to speak. I had bought the same yarn two years running. I must really like that particular yarn!
This morning I dragged my daughter to the yarn shop to help pick out new yarn. No Seth. You aren't getting another pair made from the same yarn. If you do, it's your wife's fault. She picked it out!
Anyway, that's my excuse for not working on the shingles this morning.......Now I have to think up one for this afternoon. Let's see.....The cat ate my shingles? Nope. Blaming the cat won't work twice. I guess will go shingle some more.
