Next, the front side. I still need to do a few touch ups under the eaves and I found one stone that I somehow missed painting.
I also still need to re-do the sign. That's not a big job though. Cut it out. Glue it to a sheet of black card stock to match the roof cap. Cut that out about 1/16" from the edge of the book. Slap it on the front of the shop and that's done. I could have probably had that job finished in the time that it is taking me to type this.
So that you can see what I did for the roof cap, I included a close up of the top of one of the bays.
After I finished putting on the shingles I dug up a pair of those fancy scissors that they use for scrap booking. I found some black, textured heavy card stock and cut 3/4" strips. I trimmed one edge of each strip with the scissors. Then I edged the fancy part with a metallic gold pen.

The gold shows up better in real life than in the photo. I glued these strips to both sides of all of the roof peaks. Over that, I glued a strip of the almighty wood blind over the top edge. I made these meet in the middle and taped them until they were dry. After those dried, I painted some 1/16" square stock with gold paint and ran a piece down the middle and on the bottom edge of the wood strips.
I ran out of gold pen. I may still go back in and do a little fancy work on the skirting on the roof cap. This gives me an excuse for a trip to Wal-Mart or Michael's to buy a pen. I am sure that a few other things will just accidentally fall into my cart and I will have to pay for them too if they make it to the cash register. Sometimes I catch them and put them back. Sometimes I don't......
Anyway, that's about it for today.
See you tomorrow.
