I went into the family room this morning and heard a weak voice whimpering "Feed me. Please?" You guessed it. It was that silly Buttercup Bookshop. So.......I started doing just that. The ground floor of the bookshop is rapidly filling up. I glued in a ton of books on the shelves behind the checkout table. I found a large basket in my stash of made baskets for sale items. I love sales in book shops. That's the best part. Sometimes the best books are hiding there. I still need to make signs. That will have to wait until I fill up all of the shelves.
Here's the rug that we settled on between us.....Don't tell but it was already made. It is one that I designed and made years ago. It never had a home so I put it in there and it seems to go well. I told Buttercup that it was an antique. So maybe it's not quite antique. Buttercup will never know the difference. It's old and dusty. Isn't that the main requirement for antiques?
I also did some work on the food counter. We now have cookies, tea and punch. I think it may be sangria. A friend made it and it has orange slices in the bottom that look good enough to eat. The tray that the cookies are on is one of the infamous trays out of a makeup sampler. I bent the ends down with a pair of needle nosed pliers to make handles. There are chocolate chip, pinwheels, and ginger cookies. I need to make more desserts. There are two more shelves to fill underneath. I got the curtain up on the window. I still have to do a valence. That's why the top of the photo is cropped..... I made the napkins the same way we did the towels the other day. This time with the fold line of a napkin. I cut about 1/2" from the folded part of the napkin. That way I have the first fold done. I put a dab of glue stick on one side and folded it over into a square and then cut it off. Not fancy, but it will do.
The waste basket at the left is one of the baskets made from Penelope canvas, a woodsie and embroidery thread.
That's about all I accomplished in mini today. Ask me about real housekeeping and vacuuming.....On second thought, don't. That wasn't the fun part of the day.
See you tomorrow.

I love that rug. Is it done in needlepoint?
That green set is so beautiful. I love the shading in the glaze. Is it real pottery?
Minka, that particular rug is cross stitch on cream colored hardanger cloth. It's #22 and done with one strand of floss. The pattern is worked the background is just the cloth.
Yes, it is real pottery. I purchased it at a mini show.
