Everything Old Is New Again!

This morning, I set to work on the desk.  I removed everything from the top and even repainted it.

I sorted all of the pens, pencils and tools that are in the jars at the back. I discarded non working pens and pencils.  I was tired of grabbing a pen or pencil and finding that it no longer made a mark on paper.
After that, I started in on the drawers.  I was amazed at some of the things that I found.  Some of them, I had been looking for... Some things, I didn't even know that I had!

The two Swiss Army Knife kind of tools are a mystery.  I am not sure how long that they have been hiding in the back of the drawer.  They may go to a deserving, new owner.  I know someone that could use them.  I cant even get the big green one open without help from another tool... Not very efficient.

The box sitting next to Tessie is a rusting kit.  Four different colors of rust and instructions on how to use it.  That will come into use when I start Zar's  "Bizarre Bazaar".

Proof of 4 drawers clean...

I have enough sandpaper to last two lifetimes.  I knew I had it.  I just didn't know where it all was stashed.

Anyway, everything in the desk is in the right place now.

I started at the top of the corner bookcase and am finding empty spaces!  That is, I am throwing away some stuff that nobody will ever use.

I didn't move fast enough though.  I was going to hide Tessie's traveling box...

She spotted it before I got it moved.

She is now insisting that we go someplace, so that she can see if it still works.

I am holding her off by telling her that there is no furniture in it and it would be dangerous for her to travel in there without a sturdy chair and a seatbelt to keep her in place...

So far, it is working... I am holding my breath and working as fast as I can.

Back to it!

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. I laughed when I saw your gopher from Caddy Shack on top of your bookcase. I have one as well that my daughter gave to me years ago. That was fine - good for a laugh every once in a while -- until the grandson became big enough to press the ear himself - over and over and over again. At Christmas time he delights in turning on the gopher, turning his keyboard on automatic play, turning on his musical train, turning on the musical Christmas village and winding up a Christmas musical skating scene we have -- all at the same time. I don't know why but before Christmas is over his keyboard and the gopher both magically disappear for a few weeks. I love magic!! - Marilyn D., Oromocto, New Brunswick, Canada

Marilyn, this is the first one we got. He finally gave up playing and I didn't have the heart to throw him out. Walter has a newer one that still works. So far Amare hasn't discovered him...

I love your thread spools, so organised! You've been working very hard!
I might follow your example. Maybe.
