It has already started. I haven't even gotten all of the supplies together and Tessie is nagging. More flowers!
I have showed you how this is done in other posts under "Plants".
Anyway, since Easter is coming up soon, keep your eyes open.
The plant I am working on is in a wicker basket. If you don't want to go to the trouble, this time of year there are little baskets like the lavender one at the right of the photo at party stores and such.
I paint them white and then sometimes turn them into stone or worn copper planters.
You just have to haunt places like Michael's I think that is where I found these.
The mat that I work on for cupping flowers and leaves is three pieces of soft leather glued together. I prefer these because the flowers are held down by the texture of the suede. They stay in place until you want to put them on the flower head.
Then all you have to do is use fine pointed tweezers. Dip in glue and put them on the flower head. In this case the flower heads are faceted beads painted black, so that they won't show.
Tessie had to get into the act... She figures that, if she helps, she gets ALL of the flowers and plants.
She does complain a lot though. She claims that doing it hurts her hands... Thus the ugly old rubber gloves... Her words. Not mine.
She found four more pots and stuffed Nandina branches into them...
Oh well. The potting shed needed replenishing anyway.
Back to work.
See you tomorrow.

Oh my goodness! Those little rubber gloves are the cutest thing I think I've seen in a long time. Truly hilarious!
