If Only He Could Hold a Brush...

I painted the trees on either side of the entrance this morning... I tried a lighter color on the one to the left of the door.  I can't say that I like it. It stands out more than the other ones.

I may make it darker and just forget about trying to make it stand away from the door.  It definitely looks added on and not part of the house.
I get up to retrieve the camera and this is what I come back to, every time.

Kota does not understand 'chair ownership'.  Any chair that is empty is considered his.  I always have to fight him for it, if I want it back. I think that Tessie has been giving him lessons!
I scrubbed on some black green above the windows and door.

Then I noticed a lot of white "Outside the lines".  The gesso has a way of going where it is not wanted.  I went back and scrubbed over the spots with trail tan and brown.  I didn't really need to.  It just annoyed me that it was there.  Very distracting when trying to paint other things over it.
Kota did it again and then looked at me as if to dare me to move him.  I gave up and came in here and started typing...

He will soon come in here and demand that I give up the computer chair.  He already did that once today...

I'm way ahead of him this time... When I am done typing... I will leave the computer chair, so that he can grab it...Then I will go in the bedroom with an extra chair.

When Kota comes back in, I will not have to give up MY chair... I will put a sign on the back of the other chair. "Kota's Chair".

That was the plan...He's much faster than I am. That's My chair that he is in. If only he could read as well as hold a paintbrush...

Hey!  I can dream, can't I?

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. I understand your dilemma with "cat on chair" since I have 3 cats here at present. Same goes for the sofas, not to mention that when I lie down for a nap on a sofa, I have to contend with at least one cat walking all over me. But we love them right? And 2 of these rascals go home in a few days. And I will miss them.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!! Casey you have a cat who can read????!!!! Forget the computer chair and get Kota a Director's Chair! :D
Meanwhile, your Forrest Fantasy Cottage is coming along quite nicely, but perhaps you should recruit Zar and Tessie as I know that they both enjoy getting involved in all of your projects :))

He's such a sweetie!

No, Elizabeth. Kota doesn't read. He simply grabs whatever chair he likes best at the moment. Usually mine!

Karin, Kota is the only cat that I have ever met that refuses to sit on laps! He will sit next to you, but never on your lap! Weird cat!

I have three dogs and two cats that steal my chairs. I don't think they want their own chair - they just want to sit where we have been sitting or where we are sitting! I currently have one dog on my lap and one pressed up against me. Your project is looking great. Seeing the photo with Kota in it has given me an idea of the size of the kit.
