It's My Party...

And I'll play hooky if I want to...This morning we went over to April's house.  Amare made me a Birthday card with autos, planes, trains, and dump trucks, among other things. Those are all of the things that he loves, so he assumes that we love them too... We had lunch with them.

Then we then went looking for cat supplies and possibly a cat.  No luck so far.  Either too old, too young or just plain not the right cat.

We will keep looking... Maybe tomorrow.

Meanwhile I will let you look at this house that Pat Arnell mostly restored by herself.  The shell was just about the only thing that she didn't replace.

I neglected to get the original builder's name.  I know it's called Chateau Meno.  I managed to cut the rest of the card off in the second photo.

The house is L shaped  and quite elaborate.  I will have to go back over and collect the rest of the information.

For now the beautiful rooms will have to satisfy.
Even the dog has a fancy bed in this room.  I am not sure if the original owner made the furniture or if it was purchased.

I am sorry that I can't give you more information right now, but they are pretty to look at.

I especially like the bathroom... Who wouldn't like a fancy tube like that, with a crystal chandelier hanging above it.

I will try to get back over there soon and get more information on it.  My apologies to the original builder.

So for the time being, enlarge the photos and dream of living there.

By the way, I refuse to get older... I am sticking with 12 1/2 years old.  Young enough to still play with dollhouses and old enough to be responsible for a cat or two.

See you tomorrow.

Happy Belated Birthday, Casey. I tried to comment a few times yesterday but you had not yet posted. Good luck with finding your dream cat. Hope you find it soon, Casey. You're a wonderful person and any cat you adopt will be very lucky to have you as it's Mommy! So the best of luck with that. Just keep looking. Would you prefer a kitten? Have you thought of rescuing one from a shelter? A lot of people do that. My daughter has three cats. One was a kitten found on the highway. Another one she got from my cousin who rescues cats on her country property. The other one she bought from a pet store. This one had been abandoned by its owners. I can't remember why now. He's gorgeous. In the front of him, it's like he's wearing a tuxedo. He's black and white. So unusual. She calls him Tux. He is so friendly. I love them all!

Lucille, we have gotten several of our cats from the Humane Society over the years. That's where we are going to look Monday. We just saw a few in pet stores yesterday. We want inside cats, a year or so old. Inside cats are a must! The area that we live in has coyotes roaming around at night.

Well Happy Birthday Casey. If it helps at all I always refer to my birthday as the xxth anniversary of my 39th birthday. It doesn't sound so bad that way! - Marilyn D., Canada

P.S.: 10 years ago we visited our local S.P.C.A and asked for the oldest cat they had that had been there the longest (they have a no-euthanasia policy so some can wait a long time for their forever home). The kitty we took home was 6.5 years old and very stand-offish at the time. It appears she did not have a good time for the first 6.5 years of her life. Over a period of several months her personality did a complete turn-around and every evening, as she curls up next to us on the sofa we are grateful we took a chance on her. It's been a wonderful 10 years and, even though we know we probably don't have more than one or two years left with her, we love her tremendously and wouldn't go back and change our choice even if we could. May you find your loving little "Brandi" like we did.
