Sunday Silly Stuff...

Actually, this is Saturday night... This is on of the reasons why we live in Tucson.  Those clouds went across the whole sky.  This is what I could see looking straight out the back door...
This morning, I got on a gardening kick.  I have had this Mc Coy planter for at least 20 years and it just sat on a shelf with nothing inside.  I decided to remedy that this morning.

I put some stones in the bottom and then a layer of charcoal.  Then I put in potting soil and threw some baked bean sedum on top.  We shall see what happens.  If I am lucky, I will have a lot of little baked beans overflowing the wishing well...
Report on the Mother of Millions in the desert dish garden... I just realized that there is no way to prove that the tiny plants are the same ones that I planted in here back in July.  They are.  You will just have to trust me on that.

I watered them this morning, for the first time since I last showed the planter, here on the blog.
I went out in the back yard and raked all of the leaves that just fell off of the Pomegranate tree this week.  It is almost bare now.  I won't show you a tree with no leaves or fruit.  Not a pretty site...

I will show you the Poinsettias that I just planted though. They had these at Walmart for two fifty a piece.  I bought four.

People here in Tucson grow them in their yards.

I have always wanted to try it.  There is no time like the present.

I put two in the ground.  The other two went into a large pot.  I figure that there is at least a 50/50 chance that I will still have some at Christmas time.  We shall see...  Stay tuned for the outcome.

Back to raking and such.  See you tomorrow.

Neat! I didn't know you could plant poinsettas in the ground. Beautiful sunset.
We're wondering what Tessie is up to...

Seth, I have seen them in other people's yards. Now all I have to do is get mine to stay alive... Tessie is up to about 5 1/2".
