I Should Have Known Better....

OK... So I got sidetracked....I found some beads that  bought last year at the gem show and I had to do an experimental bracelet.

I should have known that something was amiss when Tessie wanted to hold the bracelet whilst I took a photo or two....

I am pretty pleased with the chips of glass as the edges on the bracelet.  They almost look like cracked hard candy. They are pieces of Merino glass and have patterns in them.

Tessie did her usual "I want!" routine.

I turned my back for just a second and she poofed.
She is nothing, if not quick!

When I turned around again, this is what I found.  And I heard, "Thank you so much Casey!  This makes the chair so much brighter."

I want my bracelet back!  But every time I attempt to grab it, she slaps my hands and tells me "No!".  I am sure that she will have to leave the basket chair sooner or later... Maybe for a drink or a snack?

I will bide my time...

I got a bit more of the second basket chair done while watching "Houdini" last night.

I thought I would throw you a hint while I am thinking of it.  This is an easy way to get the curve in the basket.  Every so often I throw in a row or wrapped spokes, instead of just weaving... That lets me narrow and shape the basket to a smaller diameter.  I will to that about every 20 rows.  That way I don't have to fight to hold the spokes in a curve.

Anyway, I have to go feed the squirrels now.  They are gnawing on the patio furniture... Hungry much?

Speaking of hungry... Here's the latest photo of Hudson Hawk... That chair back that he is sitting on is just a few inches from the back door.

It's getting pretty bad.  He sits there and looks at me through the glass now...I am getting a bit nervous.

I am starting to get the feeling that I am on the lunch menu!

April suggested that I hang some mice outside for him... Relax.  No mice will be sacrificed.  I am not too sure about people though.  He's just biding his time...

See you tomorrow.

Maybe a nest, Giac. I think he would just chew on a chair...

Hi Casey! I just a did a recap on your first finished chair and it is Simply Marvelous! Your scroll work on the top was such a great idea as it allows in so much additional light and looks more exotic. I don't blame Tessie for parking herself inside in front of the television either. That is where I would want to be if I was sitting in that chair, however, I do believe you may have to make another bracelet. :))

Hahahahaha, Hudson Hawk reminds me of ambitious little Chickenhawk from the Foghorn Leghorn cartoons - he certainly is giving you "the eye". Better make sure Tessie and Zar stay safely inside before they become the lunch special.

The bracelet looks gorgeous as a chain for the basket chair. I can see why Tessie grabbed it!

Lené, Hudson May be ambitious, but he's not little. He's probably about 15" high from head to toe. I wouldn't want to tangle with him!
