What I Need is an Alien...

Does anyone besides me think that Ancient Aliens is fun to watch?  I laugh at a lot of it.  Pure entertainment, but food for thought sometimes...

I can't say that I believe everything they say, but sometimes it makes me wonder how some of those thousand ton stones were put where they were....Surely not with some rope and a couple of logs to roll them on.

Anyway, I put it on sometimes if there is one that I haven't seen running whilst I am working.... I have a couple of dollhouses that I could sure use one of the aliens to help move.

I decided to start the door this morning.  I cut it from basswood.  Nine pieces of wood  and other parts that will come later.  I made the door itself from one piece.  It is stronger that way than if I cut five strips and tried to hold them together with the other wood.

The hole for the door was 2 1/2" by 7".  That made it easy to score.  Five planks at 1/2" each.

I also cut the cross planks at 1/2" too.  Then I cut the corner pieces with my Exacto.  More accurate than the jigsaw.

I stained all of the pieces with Provincial Minwax.  Now I have to wait patiently for them to dry....

I have to go watch some more Ancient Aliens build the world... The last one was about them helping Da Vinci send messages with the Mona Lisa and also helped him think up all of his inventions....Did you know that he was a Time traveler that went to the future to figure out how he was going to do things? My question is which came first?  Did he invent them and the modern people stole his ideas or did he come to the future and steal their ideas and take them back....Chicken or egg?

I wonder if Daisy has ever run into him in her travels?  Maybe she could ask...

While I watch, out of the corner of my eye, I am smoothing down the corners of the house and spackling.  That should keep me busy for a few hours.  Then I can go back and work on the door some more.

I have to find something else to watch....I feel like I am going around in circles with Da Vinci.

See you tomorrow.

Hello Casey,
Great door and the spackling is looking good. Can't say I have ever watched much alien related shows...
Big hug,

Giac, I can't really say that I watch them either. I just need noise when I am working. LOL

Oh bummer, I don't have it in The Netherlands. I do however have some shores and could use an alien :-)
I also have "noise" when I work. My favourite being The Big Bang Theory. But then, I am not only a geek, but also a nerd ;-)
Love to follow the progress!

Veronique, unfortunately Big Bang is only on in the evening hours here and I usually am working on minis inthe morning. Otherwise, I would be watching that too. One of my favorites. I also listen to books sometimes. Double tasking can be fun!

The door is looking good. I like that colour of stain! That alien show sounds so interesting. I don't think I get that here. I used to love watching Third Rock From the Sun! So crazy. It's not playing anymore. I never minded watching the repeats. I'm even thinking of getting a DVD of that show.

Lucille, they have been advertising Third rock on Hulu. You can watch it for free on the web during the trial period. I am not sure how long that is. We have Hulu + and I seldom watch regular TV. Its great because you can watch one episode after another. That's where I watch the Korean dramas. Ancient Aliens is on History 2 on direct tv.
