Dark,But Not Stormy Day...

There is a lot of thunder rolling around outside...No rain.  I want rain if I have to have thunder and lightening.

We spent the morning wandering around Costco with April and Amare. Free samples of food are fun.

It does make doing minis almost non existent though.

The chair and table are now finished.  For those of you that marvel at my quickness at wicker...Those two pieces took about five days.  Not so fast...

I don't know if I have shown the back of the tufting before or not.  I do that before I add it to the seat.

Then I stretch the fabric over the top of the foam core and padding.

I then cut a strip of  index card to fit the edge of the cushion and covered that with the same fabric.

I decided on some scraps of an old quilt.  Actually, it is fabric that I purchased years ago.  I got it at a quilting store and it has photographs of a lot of antique quilts on it, in perfect 1" scale.

I must have bought at least a yard.  I have used it on a lot of wicker.

Anyway, that and the  oiling of the walnut on the table are all I finished.

The little house on the table is actually a box.  I made those for sale about 20 years ago.  The roof flips open to get to the inside.  I think that this is the only one that I have left.

Spike's nose is out of joint, because Tessie will not let him sit on the new cushions.  She only got out of it long enough for me to take the photo and to go get some hot chocolate...  We are both relaxing for the rest of the day...

See you tomorrow.

Tessie looks very proud of herself as if she had done everything on her own and Spike looks insulted! Poor Spike!

It has been very dark here too. This has to be one of the darkest summers I can remember.

Hi Casey! I LOVE THE FINISHED TABLE AND CHAIR! I think that the fabric on the chair cushion is 100% perfect for the style and the color of the wicker and what a great find it was! I like the way that you have given the cushion some depth by adding the strip around the peramiter it really makes it special and like an actual seat cushion. The table is fabulous too! Make sure that you keep the little house box. Too often things that we make, we forgot that we ever did them, once the last one is gone. Your little box is delightful and I like the way you said that you get in from the roof! Very well done Casey! ON EVERYTHING!

Once again, I am just truly amazed. Great work, Casey. And tell Tessie to share with Spike! I know, a lost cause trying to get Tessie to share anything lol.
