If You Snooze, You Loose!

I glued down the flooring and started painting the fountain this morning.  I only have the first coat on it.  No antiquing or shading yet.

No decisions on whether it will be a fountain or filled with flowers yet.

When I put it in, I kept thinking that the floor looked way too busy...It's already glued down.  What to do?
Remember the macrame outdoor rugs from the 80's?  They were busy, but somehow broke up the floor underneath...Somehow it works.

I have decided to go with the natural colored furniture that I had in my stash....I am not a fan of white wicker.  It collects dirt and grime too easily.  Maybe you haven't noticed.  I only have a few pieces in my personal collection.  I prefer natural or colored pieces.

In the thirties, you wouldn't believe some of the colors that wicker came in.  Most of it has since been painted over with white, black or neutral.

Tessie made the mistake of sleeping in this morning....Thus the title.

Zar moved in and made himself comfortable.

Tessie is not happy with being on the outside, looking in....Too bad.

She only has about a dozen other outside/greenhouse/gazebo places to retreat to...It will take a while, and I will whisper in her little ear...Tessie, go to your happy place...

Who knew???  I should have guessed.  Revenge is sweet.  The only white wicker that I know of is Zar's.  Tessie is up on the rooftop, eating everything messy that she could find in his refrigerator...No napkins.  No place mats....And I am sure that all of the stuff will be left up there when she decides to vacate the premises.

I wonder if she left anything in the fridge?  My appetite is returning.  I need a snack.

See you tomorrow.

Lynn has left a new comment on your post "If You Snooze, You Loose!":

Casey,

Did you make ALL of the wicker items I see on your blog? They are so beautiful! Where can I learn to do that?

I am on the iPad and accidentally deleted Lynn's comment. So sorry Lynn.

In answer to your question Lynn. Yes. I did it all. There are a couple of tutorials in the "wicker" section. I taught myself to do it by trial and error. There are a few books around, but most are out of print and expensive. I found a really old book on making real wicker that helped a lot. Good luck!

Hello Casey,
Another incredible outdoor space. Love the fountain and the tiles. Meaning no disrespect, has Tessie ever concidered anger therapy...that wicker set is just so beautiful it's a shame to ruin it!
Big hug,
Giac

Giac, never fear. Tessie will clean it up, after a few threats and promises of retaliation! That's how everything works with those two....

Wow you are prolific, I'm constantly in awe of how much you get done - and not only that, it's always gorgeous! I don't know how you do it!

As usual, i love it! What about doing a water fountain with a few water plants w it? Best of both world? I really like those fountains, ever since i saw ur first one with the gorgeous tiles. Can't wait to see the rest. Tell Tessie to remember pay backs are a b!tch...lol n to be careful what she does. But as u said it's how those 2 work n cohabitate. Lol At least u say things never get dull or boring. Glad that ur starting to feel better. Having a cold when it's warm out seems way worse some reason. I just had one that lasted almost 2 weeks. Hopefully ull be back to ur old self soon.

Dear Zar! I see he's made himself comfortable. I enlarged to see if he had a snack. He doesn't! Poor thing. You'll have to feed him. I feel so sorry for poor, darling wee Spike looking through that huge window and not being let in. Anyways, Casey, I love that carpet. It adds that special touch that was needed. And I love that fountain! It's so special!
