The Root of the Matter....

The first thing I did today was refine the patterns for the Russian furniture.  I now have workable plans for the chairs and the chest.

As I get to them, I will put the plans up so that you can see them better and maybe use them.
After the drawing, I went out and made a pass at the rosemary bushes with the clippers.

These are the fastest legs that I have ever made.  I may have to do some kind of house or box that I can make more furniture from this material.  It was FAST and fun.

All I had to do was find a branch that went in at least three different directions at the joint.

I cut off three to start with.  I needed to see how much I was going to have to do to them.  Not much! I cut the main branch as level as I could and then by taking off a little at a time, I leveled the bottom.  I knew that I wanted them about seat height. (1 1/2").

The hardest part was getting them level....And that was not hard.

It took me all of ten minutes to make all three.

I cut some planks for the seats. They were 1 1/4" long by 1/2" wide.  Those were glued to the top.

That was basically all there was to it.  I can't let the Terrible Two try them out yet.  The glue isn't dry.

I like the same one that Tessie picked out, but I am partial to the one by her feet also....Hard to choose just one...And I think that it is going to be hard to make just three.

I am thinking that they would be cool with tops that are more shaped.  Maybe even Woodsies would work.  I will have to look to see what shapes of those I still have.

Anyway, I have to get back to the real world now....I still have another couple of loads of laundry to do.

See you tomorrow.

I just love them, Casey. I think a top with bark on the sides could look quite nice. Think I should start saving all the twigs in the garden.

Clever girl! Love the rosemary stools. They could be modern minis too with the right top. Great thinkin' Casey!

I would stick four in front of a diner table! If not at least one by the fireplace if one is available. Yet, I have read you wanted to stick it in out on the front porch if I'm not mistaken! Well keep blogging, and thank Tessie for begin cute:) makes me laugh when she talks, I read some of the blog to my mom. After that she says when ever she vacuums oh just sucked up that little person that wouldn't stop talking there every where! :) well keep on mini-ing also are you a member of www.greenleafdollhouse.com/forum ? I love this website. They are really nice and love to see other ideas.
