The Mind Wanders...

I just thought that you might like to see what happened to the leaves.  The photo doesn't do them justice.  I stuck them in the frames of already hung photos.  I kind of wish there had been a couple more.

They bring a touch of color to this arrangement of gold frames.  The photo at the bottom left is of Amare.

I did the pencil drawing above it and the three cross stitch ones.

The rest is a little of this and a little of that...I just like the gold frames together.

I have been cleaning room boxes and shifting them from one place to another in the house.  This is a very early Latin American room box that I did around 1982 or 3.

The two pieces of furniture are Colombian.  I built it inside an old speaker case that Walter had in the storage room of our old house....He was much more careful about "storage" after I built that.  Hey!  If it's not being put to use.  I have to do something with it.  That's how it works.
OK.  You may be asking why I am showing shots from a Korean drama on here...I have been watching a historical/fantasy drama called Faith on Hulu.

I have replayed episode 17 several times.  I want the whole movie set in mini!  When I saw this particular building, paused the show and took in the details.  I WANT THIS in mini.

The detail is amazing.  The rock foundation is just like the Buttercup Book Shop!  The colors are the same.  But this building has a tree embedded in the plaster on the side and the shingles are all pieces of tree trunks with the bark still attached.
I kept trying  to get Lee Min Ho to move over, so that I could get a better shot.  He just wouldn't co-operate....Most irritating.

This set just goes on and on.  It is literally a whole village with all kinds of fascinating architecture.  I want it all.

I did the best I could, taking shots of the screen.  The drama is very good.  The sets are outstanding inside and out.

Since it is a  bit of a fantasy, I doubt if these building really existed in history. The interiors are beautiful...I see a historical Korean mini coming  one of these days!

Back to looking for more half timber wood...

See you tomorrow.

LOVE the tree embedded in the plaster! Wish I could do something like that on the exterior of my garden center. :D

My daughter said some of her friends were saving colored leaves by painting them with ModPodge. I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it might work?

I like what you did with the leaves. Cute photo of little Amare! So original that embedded tree! It would be interesting to see you build something like that in mini since it's never been done!

I would like to do something similar. Debbie, I watch Korean dramas on Hulu and Netflix. They always have great ideas on the sets of the shows, not to mention better programing than American tv. The historic ones have lots of unusual color combinations, beautiful furniture and ideas by the armload!

Granted, I have to read subtitles, but I am also learning a bit of the language and a lot that I didn't know about the culture.
