Oh Look!!! A Squirrel!!!

Anything to distract. Our baby squirrels from this spring are all grown up.  I think that we lost a few to the monsoons this year.

Thank goodness the storms are almost done.

Do you ever have days where you just wander around the house, looking for something that will entertain and amuse you for longer than twelve and a half minutes?  That's how my day is going.

I started out crocheting gifties for a while....Then knitting...Nope.   Those weren't at all amusing.

I was really trying to talk myself into working on the staircase again...Then I remembered that, on the Greenleaf site, there should be a photo of the finished one.

The one on the kit is just a very poor photo of the staircase alone.

I was trying to remember how it was attached to the building...I remembered right.  The stupid thing sticks out sideways.

I had planned to run it down the side of the building instead, but after looking at it some more, I realllllly don't like it at all.  It doesn't even look like it goes with the building. It kind of sticks out like a sore thumb.

Tessie took one look at the photo and stuck her tongue out at me....That's a bad sign.  She then announced, "I will zap my way up, thank you very much."  And with that, flounced out of the room.  She does that well.  Lots of practice.
As she was flouncing, I herd her say over her shoulder, "Zar will just have to use his big rock and borrow a ladder if he wants to get up to the second floor.

It has been done before....

I hate to say it, but sometimes Tessie is right.  Even the rock and ladder look better than that clumsy staircase sticking out of the building.

They designed it so that it has to be right in the middle of the wall.  That's the only place that the door will fit properly.

So....As of now, I have nothing that is interesting enough to last more than even eleven minutes.

Tomorrow I have to get Kathie's wicker set upholstered.  Between the two of us, we decided that we would rather not have it trying to get from my house to hers over the Labor Day weekend.

I am taking the rest of the day off to watch squirrels.  At least they keep the attention span of a six year old (me) busy for a little while.  It takes them a while to stuff their cheeks with peanuts to full capacity. I am still trying to figure out how they manage to drink out of the water dish with full pouches.

Questions.  Always more Questions than answers....

See you tomorrow.

Now you know why my staircase kit is still in the coffee cup. LOL

Love your little squirrel. Looks like you have provided a feast for him! :D

It must be so much fun to watch squirrels, we have a few that run along our fence but none of them stay around. When you were wondering what to do, you could have asked Tessie, LOL, I'm sure she would have thought of lots of things she would like. The ladder looks very sensible.
