Irritating Townhouse....

I am doing just about anything that I can to get away from the townhouse right now.

Back to the workroom... While looking through my big notebook of ideas and plans for future projects this morning, I found an old plan that I drew up and built in the early 80s. I only built one and the owner of the shop that I was connected with at the time, talked me into giving it up for a raffle...

Somehow, I never did get around to building another one. Maybe it's about time to do it again.

The only catch is, if I build it, I will have to make flowers... I am not in love with the idea.

It is three tiers of step shelves and would hold at least nine bunches of flowers in pails.Tessie has volunteered to help, but we all know how she does in that department. I don't think that this is the problem solver that I am looking for...

For some reason, I can't seem to muster any enthusiasm for the townhouse right now. I am drifting....I think that the problem is, that house is not lending itself to Tessie's style and I am fighting it every step of the way. Can you say "Square peg in a round hole."? It just isn't fun like the Clockwork Caravan was.

I am going now to see what I can come up with to bring back my enthusiasm...And finish the laundry....Bah Humbug!

See you tomorrow.

Hi Casey. I was unhappy to hear you are not happy with Tessie's Townhouse after all the work you have put into it. I know with full-sized houses, it's possible to bring in a personal style with a few new pieces of furniture or new accessories to mix with the old. Perhaps that would work.

I always love seeing your drawings, so interesting. I don't care for the new image viewer though, I can't get as close a look.

It isn't necessarily the style, Phyllisa. It's the house itself. The depth of the house leaves me cold. It is supposed to open on the bay window on two sides. If you don't do that, over a foot and a half of depth and the back bay is not easily seen. I was not aware of this problem before I started it.

Mary, I hate the new image viewer too! This is the second time it has been put on my blog without my knowledge. I wish that there was some way to change it back...I think that blogger is, for some reason, going to this format. It is terrible! You can still enlarge the photos. Just push your Ctrl key down and hit the plus sign. You do have to have the blog on full screen when you do it. I just did it and got the photo up to 225%!

Third vote on the new image viewer. I don't like it either. Guess we have no choice when Blogger decides to change something. UGH.
I do like Tessie's dress and new (?) shawl. She looks a bit chilly?
I was drifting too until I had the poll on my blog to help me decide what to do next. I doubt I would ever have gone back to the kitchen. It's a real challenge, but I'm having fun with it. :D
Maybe you should buy a new house for Tessie? Would she be happy in a little cottage? I doubt it.

Aw, I hope you get your townhouse mojo back! Even though I'm dying to see how it turns out, you have so many other interesting projects going on that I'll try not to be too disappointed.....lol. Is the clockwork cottage a front runner?
I'm interested to see your step shelves. It's the kind of thing I'd like to make for myself in a few different sizes (eventually). =)
