Slow Going Today....

I have gotten a lot done today.....Just not a lot of minis. Do three loads of wash(working on the fourth), messing about in the back yard, and cleaning my closet(real one) count? I guess not.

I did start blocking out what I want to do with the shower tower. I painted the inside and outside dark gray. Then I pulled out the egg cartons.

I want the part around the door, around the foundation and around the top to all be thicker than the rest of the walls. Therefore, I started with an underlying layer. I am now thinking that I might want another raised line around the middle of the tower....We shall see.

Tessie suggested that there needed to be more natural light in the shower. That lead to a round window on the wall opposite the door.

I used the bottom of my glue bottle to draw a pattern. Then I chopped it out with an exacto.

Zar is helping with the stone masonry, but it is really slow going. Each stone has to be trimmed to fit in place, just like the real ones would be. Granted these are easier to cut, but still a really slow process. We don't want any of the water leaking out.

In case you are wondering, there will be a conical, shingled roof on top....Zar has hired Tessie to make a couple of flags to fly on a pole that he is installing there... One for "Vacant" and one that says "Occupied". Don't tell Zar, but I don't think that he should hold his breath until Tessie gets them finished...

I just had another thought....Maybe instead of the shingled roof, I should make a conical glass roof. A skylight might be even better to let in light....I am going to go see what I can do about that now.

See you tomorrow.

Tessie sure has some good ideas! Love the round window. A clear glass roof? Now THIS I want to see!
The tower is going to be amazing!

Casey--I haven't commented in a while, but I read your posts every day. It's fun following your stories and your miniature-making process!
