Get That Dog Off the Counter!!!

I do believe that someone super glued Spike Jr. to the counter that I am trying out. Tessie and Zar have been trying to coax him down. Every time they get close enough to attempt moving him physically, he snarls at them. It is just a puppy snarl, but it's enough to make them think twice about grabbing him.

This is the start of the kitchen area. I just have it taped together. Zar took one look at it and pronounced it "too plain", with Tessie backing him up. Here we go again.

I am hoping that they will settle down and get with the program. I don't want to do hand carved counters for a trailer....I do have some photos of some from the 60s or 70s in a book somewhere that might be interesting though...

I put a couple of millennium chairs in the living section to see how they would fit. They fit. Just barely. I designed them for the NAME House Party Handbook for the year 2000. There is a pattern in that, if you happen to have a copy.

Did you notice that Zar pilfered one of the magazine racks that I made a while ago? Tessie will never miss it. She had both in the living room of the townhouse. Not a magazine in site...

It's about time to see an overview of what's going on. All in all, I am making progress. I think that I am going to have to do a foundation board, so that I can start fastening things together. I can't finish the stairs or put on front steps and shower tower steps until I do that....Hmmmmm. That solves my problem. Now I know what to do with the rest of my day....Or I could take a nap instead....

See you tomorrow.

This Looks WONDERFUL! Awesome job. I like the counter but that's just me. What about some fancy steampunk gears to decorate the counter..or some kind of Rube Goldberg Steampunk water spigot to fancy it up, instead of a carved counter and cabinets.

Those two look positively comfy. Zar's never going to come out..unless it's to shower. Where's he going to hang his towels?

Merri, the steampunk gears are in the works, but I have to do the cabinets first and as for the towels, wait and see what happens...Steampunkers don't always use towels...

Casey, I love following the story on your blog! I've officially added you to the Fun Story Blogs section on my blog. I love following blogs that do mini stories, as I do on my blog. Best!

Jollie, as I said before, I had lots of plans for Steampunk details from the start. Unfortunately, most can't be put in until later. Hang in there. I will get to them. I already have plans drawn up. Those are a surprise.

It's absolutely wonderful! All of your creations are just so inspiring. I am not a miniturist, I work in 1/6 scale, but I just love your work.

It's been interesting watching the development of Zar's trailer. The
shower tower is inventive. And there's a surprise coming? Great!
You have gotten me interested in Steampunk (Read about it first on
your blog). So far I have made a
cappuccino machine and a speampunk
bed for my single guy. Who knows what will be next. I may have to do a
whole house for him!
