And Now, For Something Completely Different.....

If I could just figure out what the completely different part was going to be....I need a day off to decide what I am going to do now that the bed is finished.

Yesterday morning, on the way home from town, I stopped at a few garage sales. Only one was a success. It seems like every garage sale that I have been to in the last month has mainly clothes and kids toys. Nothing that I am interested in buying.

I did find a couple of things. One sale seemed to be a flashback to the late 70s and early 80s. Craft magazines from 1979 that had lots of macrame and really bad craft projects. I bought a couple of those. I couldn't resist one magazine that had a macrame clock on the cover....No. I am not going to make a macrame clock.

I taught macrame classes back at the time of the magazines, but I am not that desperate for a new clock!

I did buy a house for a dollar. I think that, with a bit of knocking out of walls and redecorating, it could be a really cute quarter scale residence. I already knocked the out of scale fences off of the front and the partitions out of the attic area. It still had enough dirt that I think that it hadn't been cleaned since the 80s at least.
I cleaned it up with Murphy's Oil soap and water.

Of course, Tessie says it's not worth working on, because she can't live there.

She did like this little jade tree that I bought to match her dress. I don't know what I am going to do with it. A friend of mine used to make these in miniature. The whole tree was about an inch tall. Very cool in that size.

Last night we went over to April and Seth's house for dinner. Seth's parents came down from Phoenix. It was a lot of fun. Seth's mom, Jill is a fan of Tessie's.

She brought Tessie a plant. Very specifically for Tessie. It is tiny now and it will be tiny for a long time. The woman that sold it to her, told her that the plant will never get taller, but will spread to maybe 6" across in 25 years or so....That's definitely Tessie's kind of plant. The little stalks that Tessie is reaching for will have pink flowers on them soon....Now If I can just keep Tessie from picking them for a bouquet....

Last but not least, somebody told on me yesterday. I won't mention names, but Tessie now knows about that package that arrived yesterday and knows what is inside.
I did NOT tell her.

Luckily, she can't open it by herself. She will just have to wait until I decide it is time to start on it.

I can't let her see me hide it under the bed now.....There is a Harrison, a Storybook and a Magnolia under there. If she finds those, all kinds of bad will happen. She has already claimed the Magnolia for Spiderwort Manor. If she finds out that the others are under there, she will start dreaming of "Tessieville". Please don't tell her about the stash! I have enough to do without three more houses....Make that four. I am going to shove the new box under there, as soon as I safely can, without her seeing it. Shhhhh!

See you tomorrow.

A dollar house! Love it! :D
Come on, open the Greenleaf box!
You can't hide it for long. I'll tell Tessie where it is!
That little plant is just so cool.
Real life plants in miniature! Great idea!

As soon as I saw the house you bought at the garage sale I thought about a market in 1:48. So many shops to fill. Hugs

Well, Bloglandia DOES have to have some towns. Tessieville is as good a place to start as any.

I'd begin with the new package that just arrived, LOL! After all, she HAS seen the package.

The little house looks like a large shadow box? I've never seen one that large!

That hosue will make a great 1/4 scale. Cant wait to see what you do with it. I went to Home Depot today because of you. I saw that pin board and I want one. Someone said I needed a $149. thingie that made pleats and I said no, no... to that. When I saw your pleating I thought wow she has it all figured out. Thank you! It will probably take me some practice I am sure, but I will prevail. I knew there was a reason I voted for you.

It'll be interesting to see what you make of you dollar find. I'm surprised Tessie didn't immediately 'zap up' a Mini-Me of herself so that she could claim even a small scale piece as her 'own'.

Can't wait to see what's inside that box...

Norma, thanks for the idea....However, I have the feeling that a 1/4" mini me for Tessie would be worse than the regular sized one. I can see all kinds of complications. Smaller buildings? More of them!

Deni, try to go garage saling on a day when there are lots advertized in the paper if you can. The more that you hit, the better the chances for finding good things. And be sure to to the first day if you can.

I am tempted to start the 1/4" project right away, but I really should go clean up the workroom so that I can get to the 1/4" minis....
