Holes.......

OK....The first chair headed for Minnesota this morning at 9:05 AM. I was second in line at the post office. Now it is up to Kim to show it to you. I forgot to take pictures. I thought of that after it was already gone....

Anyway, I am starting work on the second chair and the bassinet at the same time. That is, I drilled all the holes for both pieces and then a few extra ones for good measure, while I was at it.

As you can see, Zar tried his hand at it....If he does it, there will be a long wait for the other two pieces. And Tessie is no help at all.

She calls herself the cheering section. She sits in the box of blanks for various pieces of furniture and cheers us on to glory... "Go team!!" and "It needs more holes!"

When we got the holes done, Zar at least volunteered to sweep up the mess.

Tessie? She suggested we drill more holes in the piece of wood that she is holding....It would make a nice planter for her petunias....Can you hear Zar and I growling from where you are?

The next step is putting the wires in place for the weaving....

As you can see, Zar is going great guns on learning to insert the wires. I am having trouble getting him to stop long enough so that I can glue them in place now and then....So, most of them fall through and he has to do it again.

Tessie? She claims to be handing him wires, but as far as I can see, she is deliberately bending each one so that they will have to be straightened before they are used or we will have a very strange looking chair.

I am thinking very seriously of kicking them both out. Zar is trying and Tessie is treacherous. The work is progressing slowly. I will solve the problem by giving them each an Oreo cookie and sending them on their way.

I have to go now and straighten wires and glue them in as I go.

See you tomorrow.

Heya Casey. Oreos work very well on Zeb, so they should be a hit with Zar and Tessie! Now whenever I need someone out from underfoot, I'll forever think of "the Oreo Solution"

I would love to learn to do wicker, so I'm off to hunt for a tut, unless you're going to make the assembly of this bassinet, a tut. Wait, I'll look farther back into your blog to see if there already is one, LOL.

Ohhhhh..look at those votes on About.com..WOOT!

Happy Weaving! Please eat at LEAST two cookies for doing such a great job, lady!

Hugs!

If you give them Oreos every time you need to get rid of them I think you're going to be making a range of 'super-size' male and female clothing very soon...

I've got a lot of catching up to do over here, there have been so many adventures going on :)

Addendum: Dang it, I had to actually GO OUT and buy Oreos, HAHAHA! Reading this post made me want them. :P

Even better than Oreos, Casey, are these cookies I made recently. Chocolate chip cookies with a square of Caramilk chocolate bar in the middle so that when you bite into a cookie, you have the extra chocolate and caramel to savour. Out of this world delicious. Tessie and Zar would just love them! I don't often eat stuff like that, though. I make them for my granddaughters. But, sometimes it's hard not to cheat. Good luck with the chair and little crib!

You are so fast . . . in spite of all your helpers! Impressive.

OK...I think that we need to start a "Cookie Eaters Anonymous" chapter. I don't want to be responsible for making people "Go Out" for cookies!LOL And no fair tempting me with "even better cookies"!!!

Where are those Oreos? I want a cookie!
