Or as Tessie called it, "End of the year smash and grab."
Remember that laundry basket that was full of odds and ends from the last purge of the workroom? I decided to tackle it. Tessie decided to supervise and take whatever she thought that she deserved as payment for putting up with me for another year....
I didn't decide to take the photo until I had already disposed of about a quarter of what was stashed in there.
As you can see, Tessie was "helping". Helping herself to what she wanted.
We are going to a movie and a late lunch soon. Tomorrow is Walter's birthday and we are starting the celebration today. He is playing golf tomorrow.
Anyway, I got some of the sorting done. Tessie made quite a haul.
She found her beloved rubber chicken, her favorite hat, three purses, lots of baskets, some fabric, various findings, books and a microwave oven that has a working turntable....It is from the 80s. You can tell by the lovely avocado green case...If she is really going to put that in the townhouse, I think that it is going to have to have a color update.
See the orange bead at the front of the photo? I have plans for that. With a little work, it is going to be a samovar for the Russian Cottage.
When April was here at Christmas, she saw the cottage for the first time and likes it a lot. I guess that I am going to have to get to work and finish it. She found some mini baby hedgehogs
in a basket and announced that Russians love hedgehogs. Then she found a mini Faberge Egg. I tried to tell her that Russian peasants living in a small cottage wouldn't have anything so fancy. I couldn't talk her out of it, so I guess that the occupants will have to be closely related to the late royal family. I am going to leave it up to her to think up a background story.
Anyway, today movie and lunch...Tomorrow I will build a samovar.
See you then and Happy New Years Eve!!!

Happy New Year's Eve, Casey! Tessie looks so sweet in her little hat.
Better snag that bead now, Casey..if Tessie reads this blog she'll have it out of there before you can draw another breath! RUN, or your samovar is forever a dream!
Merri, I already planned for that...I have two beads like that. Two samovars. One for April and one for Tessie.
Happy New Year!
Geneviève
A samovar!??!
