Back to Work....

This morning at Walmart, of all places, I found more filigree. In the potpourri dept. they had sandalwood fans. I would have never thought to look there. I am now sure to have enough to finish the Russian cottage.

I got it home and Tessie immediately wanted to tear into it with Zar's rusty saw. After taking that away from her, I very gently opened the box. It is nice heavy plastic.....Windows, if I need them.

Tessie announced, "We will be working on the cottage this morning. Won't we?" I do believe that is the "royal we". You know. It's the one where we means Tessie is going to watch me work.

I gessoed the inside walls and ceiling. Tessie showed up to pose with the paintbrush after I had finished. Notice the clean paintbrush....

Then I started putting some boards around the second story opening.....She spent the time saddling the roof and watching over the edge.

Help? What help? I am certainly glad that I don't have to depend on her to get things done.

She wandered off after that and went back to the Mid-century Mod party. Yup. It's still going strong. At least it keeps her out of my hair some of the time.

I have to go back to work now, sans assistance. Don't forget to go make a comment on yesterday's blog for the drawing, if you haven't already done so.

See you tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip about the fans at WalMart. I would have never thought to look there.
Love that photo of Tessie straddling the roof. Too funny! :D

Esta Tessie es una polvorilla, no para ni un momento, jeje.
Dile que vaya con cuidado no vaya a caerse del tejado.

Las paredes están muy bien. Y las tablillas que rodean el arco. A pesar de tener a Tessie mareandote.

Sandalwood fans are not easy to find cheap, at least not here :(. I have always thought how much good the house will smell if I can make furniture with sandalwood fans. But if you can find them in Walmart, there must be very affordable ones around. Time to go on down to our Mustapha to find them.

I gotta put those fans on 'that list of stuff Casey said was good':) You always find the best thing:)

...the mini wooden blinds on going on the list, too! Love the new floor:)

Katie, if you find the woven wooden blinds, I'll be right over to go thrift shopping in your neighborhood! There sure aren't any around here! Good Luck!

I just asked in another post whereabouts in Wm it was. I'll be sure to check this weekend...so many uses.

I am answering this in both places, just in case. The fans were in the potpourri section of our Walmart. After I got them open, they weren't actually fans. Just blades. That was great, because the other one was hooked together with very fine invisible thread and they had to be cut apart and each knot cut, one at a time.

I just saw the other comment. Thanks so much...I'll go see if I can get any this weekend.
