I Had the Day Off......

At least I had the day off from minis......I know that's not what you wanted to hear, but it had to be. Tomorrow is one of those days where the city comes and picks up your "big" trash and yard debris. I was out there off and on all day.

I did have help though. Walter was doing the heavy lifting while I raked and pruned. Thank you, Walter!

Then Tessie showed up. How she managed to get out of the house, I don't know. But she volunteered and we needed all of the help we could get.

Of course, you already know how Tessie "helps".

First she decided that the bird feeders needed to be filled. It takes a while when she is picking Millet seed pods that have sprung up wild in the back yard from the normal bird seed......
she managed to find a couple of sprigs, but I had to contribute the rest from the bag on the porch....

Next she found the lanterns that I put under the bird feeder to get them out of the way.

She grinned at me and said, "I feel just like Goldilocks. This one's just right!". Then "You can make this into an elevator for Spiderwort Manor?" There was a bit of question in her voice on that one....but not much.

I put her to work with a broom, sweeping the porch. Needless to say, that didn't make her a happy camper. All I heard was...."Why are you so messy, Casey? There is way too much potting soil scattered around here. I could plant a whole garden on this porch!" Grumble, grumble, mumble, mumble, sweep. Grumble, grumble, mumble, mumble, sweep. If she had spent as much time sweeping as she had mumbling and grumbling, we would have been finished at least an hour earlier.

Then it happened. Tessie is officially in love once more. She found the turtle water sprinkler that April gave me for Christmas a few years ago. It started out just a piece of turtle shaped resin. It took her only a couple of minutes to turn it into a turtle shaped turtle and they were off and running! I didn't know that a turtle, even an enchanted one, could move that fast. If they escape the back yard, I will never find them. "Tessie!!!! You come back here right this MINUTE!!!!"

See you tomorrow. I've gotta run, now!

It is clear that Tessie has excellent horseback riding experience. Great posture! Must come from 'flying' the dragons?
