Tessie's a Basket Case......

It seems that Zar has banned Tessie from the house for the rest of the day. She has decided that, as second best person to bother, she will follow me around and annoy me.

Today is Wednesday so any minis that I get done will be at the Wednesday Witches' mini meeting. The most pressing subject at the moment is, what I should take to work on. I needed something portable and not too hard on the eyes.

While I was looking for something to do, Tessie spotted the container where I keep my coiled basket supplies. Her eyes lighted up when she found all of the thread. She loves color almost as much as I do.......She went rooting around in the box and, kind of, straightened the skeins so that she could see them all. "I want that one and that one and that one.......and that one way over there."(That was the puce.)

After messing everything up, she asked "OK. Which ones are the new ones? I want something made out of the new stuff." I think that she is in the mindset that newer is better today. I had to sort through the whole mess and find the ones that I just purchased. Thank goodness those still had their labels. I set them out on the table for her and she immediately choose one, saying "This one matches my hair! You could make me a bag to match!"

Off the subject, if any of you like using over-dyed thread and were sad when Needle Necessities went out of business, there is good news. There is another company called Threadworx. http://threadworx.com/ They have hired the lady that used to do NN's over-dying to do theirs now. The dye lots are very similar to the old NN.

Back on track. Tessie found these two twined baskets that I just need to do a bit of finishing on and latched onto them. She has decided that is what I will be working on this afternoon. she says that the square one would make a great work bag to keep her knitting stored. Who knew that she knits? I don't think that she really does. I suspect that she just wants the bag. The other one, she wants a lid for. She says it will be good for snakes........I am not even going to ask ....

Anyway, that's how I(we) figured out what to take to Wednesday Witches today. If I can get the finished baskets away from her, I will show you how to do it and you can look at the finished baskets tomorrow.

See you then.
