Tessie is still "helping". When I went in this morning, she and her new friend Rosie, were perched atop the shipping box of the Magnolia kit. You see, Tessie is under the impression that the house might be for Rosie since she was sitting on the typesetter's drawer above it. She has been wheedling and whinging( I learned this word from an English friend), trying to talk Rosie out of the house. I think that it may be a problem in the making. She really likes that house. What she doesn't know is that Rosie is meant to go in a specific bedroom when I get the room box finished......I am not about to tell her the truth. Yes, I know it's another unfinished project. Hey! I just got it. At least it's not a 20 year old, unfinished project.
Anyway, that kept her busy while I got started again. I can now see a good part of the floor.....I didn't say that I could actually walk on it. I really am trying.
When Tessie tired of hassling Rosie, she went to work gathering the things that she saw yesterday in the "Mom Shop". She piled everything on my desk. There actually was a bare spot big enough for the chosen merchandise. See, there is a good reason for keeping the desktop messy.
She is still trying for the blue chair that I tried out in her cottage and rejected. She found a fancy pink hat and a tray that a friend sent me with all kinds of make up and girly things.
I do have to thank her for finding the one and only sock monkey that I still have. Now, all I have to do it get it back.
What on earth is she going to do with the antique wooden Dennison's Transparent Tape roll? And the Big Rock? I am afraid to ask. I think that she is just trying to irritate now. Those are two of my favorite things.
As for the pyramid, she thinks it is magical in some way and the card of antique Chinese ribbon trim? She saw one of the other witches with some of it on her apron. Now she wants it on some of her clothes. I told her that she would have to have more clothes if she wanted the trim on anything. Me and my big mouth! She took it to mean that I was going to make her more clothes. I meant that she didn't have the clothes to put it on and I wasn't making more. That started another argument.
In the end, she and Spike landed in the drawer of silks. They are conferring on which silk would go best with the trim.......As I said yesterday, Help! I am being harassed!!!
See you tomorrow.

Oh I do Love Tessie. She makes me laugh every day..
Don't let Zar see the tape roll. He will whisk it away before you can say "steam punk!"
That is the cutest sock monkey! Did you make him?
Yes Kat. I made the sock monkey. I did some for friends and I thought that I gave them all away. I was very happy that Tessie found it. Now, if I can just get it back....
What a great little character she is....Tessie adventures makes me laugh and i can't wait what she is planning up to next time?
Casey, I have been hunting for a sock money (mini) pattern for months. Did you whip this up out of your head?
What materials did you use? I'd really like to have a go a trying to make one.
April W. the sock monkey is made from Granitex Fimo. It comes in several colors. It gives the mottled effect of the sock. The white, red and black are just regular Fimo. I saw someone making them at about 4" in height on the Carol Duvall Show on HGTV a few years back. I just followed their directions and scaled it down to 1/12.I don't know if HGTV still has all of the tutorials from her show on their site. They used to. It is basically just long snakes for arms legs and tail. The head is a ball and the mouth part is a half ball as I remember. It has been a while since I made them. If you have worked with poly clay you could probably make one just by looking at a photo or the real doll.
Thanks bunches Casey. That makes much more sense. Trying to sew this would likely make me go nutty
