Another One of Those Days.....

I spent the morning trying to load one of four different greeting card programs on my laptop. I have one on the regular computer that I like. I tried that one and the second CD just kept doing weird things. The other three got loaded and taken off too because they didn't do the same things as the one that I like. I think that the second disc may be warped. I am growling a lot.

So.......I am going to go play in the old fuzzy photos for one more day. I had planned to paint some of the rocks on the Buttercup, but now it looks like I am not going to get to do that.

The photos that I am showing you today are some of my people that left home and I have no idea where they ended up. If you ever meet them, please say "Hi!" for me.

They are all sculpted of Super Sculpey and Fimo. I just start working and they seem to come out as I go along. This lady seemed to need a cat. The cat was modeled after a cat that used to live with me. The clothes are all silk and the lace is antique. She went to a friend who is no longer into miniatures. The lady and the cat went somewhere else to live. I have no idea where they live now.

The second photo is of two people that I sculpted for Pam Throop. She used to sell my dolls and wicker furniture through her business "Historic Homes in Miniature". She has passed on and is greatly missed in the world of miniatures. She did beautiful houses.

I'm sorry about the quality of the photo, but it is the only one that I have of these two. It was taken with a regular camera. I am amazed that I got an image that is readable. I like my Canon a lot better. If something doesn't come out that well nowadays I can just shoot it again.

The lady is about 1840 English and the gentlemen is a gardener of the same period. His shirt is one of the farmer's smocks. It is made out of fine linen and is actually smocked on the shoulders and the front.

The third Gentleman is just that. He was one that Pam commissioned to go into one of her houses. He actually made it into Nutshell News. I'm not sure if it was before or after they changed the name of the magazine. I would have to look it up and my lazy streak is rearing it's ugly head. Oh well....

He has pants made of a fine suede cloth and real leather boots. The pants are of the period and have little straps that run under the instep to hold the bottoms down. I imagine that the bottom part of those pants were filthy after a couple days of wear.

This is another couple of people that made it into the magazine. She is the housekeeper and he is a retired sea captain. The sign that says"Shanunga" is the name of the cottage that Pam made.
They are both dressed in late 1800s clothes. her dress was made from material that was in an old quilt that was past saving. A friend gave it to me knowing that I could do something with the parts that were good. The fabric is of the period.
I often wonder where the people are that I send out into the world. Mostly I lose touch after a while. I hope that they are all doing well and are happy. That's all a doll maker can ask.
Hopefully, tomorrow I will have some progress made on the Buttercup and it will stop whining.
See you then.
