Is anybody hungry? I am afraid that all I can serve you is breakfast. There are fried eggs, bacon and toast. Or if you would prefer there are biscuits in the cast iron pan.
I am trying this table out for size in the bay window of the mystery house. The color isn't right but I think that the size is good.
It looks like I am going to have to make another skirted table in blue and white of some kind. I made the rug from a pattern in an old Dover book especially for this space and the rest of the room is all blue and white so I don't think that the gray and white will go. This is the table with the hiding place under it from a previous post.
Today I am just trying different furniture to see what fits in the kitchen area.
I am not sure if I really want a Chrysnbon stove and ice box in the space. I had in mind a more modern house. I guess that the lady who lives there could be an antique collecting fanatic that decided to use the old stuff.
I have pretty much decided that this house is only big enough for one person and her cats. Why not an eccentric young antique collector?
The rug in front of the stove is done on 40 mesh silk gauze and is a design from Frank Cooper's book. I changed it somewhat but it is still more his than mine.
My other option is a MacKenzie-Childs type kitchen in an armoire.
This is the real one from the MacKenzie-Childs Catalog. In the real one there is a microwave oven behind the double doors at the top. You can see the edge of the sink in the middle. Behind the door at the bottom is a small refrigerator. This is a whole kitchen all in one compact space! I can't afford one in real life but it sure will be fun to make in miniature!
I am off to hunt for more things to put in this house.
See you tomorrow.
