Not For Laundry...

 Everybody knows that, if the cat gets there first, you don't have a chance of using whatever you brought home for it's intended purpose...

So much for the laundry hamper that I found at Walmart this morning... Nice.  Light weight.  And full of CAT!

As soon as I put it on the floor, I knew that it was a mistake...

Kota has a new place to sleep and I have NO laundry basket!

This seems to happen with cats.  No matter the size.

Tessie lost her thread chest also.  This is by Pam Boorum.  She does beautiful woodwork. I always wanted one of these in real life size... However, they are an outrageous price these days.  So I am happy with this one.

 The last thing I found at the show was some fabric to play with.

The blue on the bottom is a piece of a silk sari...

The two pieces on top don't photograph too well.  They are hand dyed silk velvet.  Very pretty in real life.  Not so much in this photo.

I am going to try using the latter two for beaded cuffs.  I think that they will look a lot better, once they are covered with bead work.

Unfortunately, I can't find the cards for the people that sold these to me. Sorry about that.

And I suppose that you are wondering where Tessie is this morning? 

I think that discretion is the better part of valor.

I am not going to wake her up.  She would bite my head off.

It certainly is quiet this morning... I hope that it stays that way...

Yesterday and Today

Yesterday was one of those days.  I pushed the button twice when publishing the blog.  Phyllisa made a comment and told me about it... So... I went and took one off, without looking to see which one had the comments... One of those duh moments. 

I eliminated  her comment and Giac's too.  Sorry you two! I didn't mean to do it.

Anyway.  I found this Mexican hand painted pot yesterday at Goodwill.  This big size goes for about 50 dollars in stores around here... I got it for SIX dollars! 

This morning I potted a euphorbia in it.  Moved a few other plants to bigger pots and that is my excuse for not getting more mini-ing done. 

I have been doing a lot of gardening for the past week.  Getting ready for winter...Yes.  We do get frost here a few times a year.

I trimmed one and a  half of the Cape Honeysuckle, with at bit of help from Walter on the high parts. We can only stuff just so much in the garbage can each week, so it is a slow process.  They aren't picking up brush and bulky stuff until next month.

I did get a little more mini-ing done this afternoon.  I have finished the bottoms of the Bunny Hutch.  All I have left is the peaks.

I had best get back at it an finish the job. 

Saturday is the mini show and sale.  I have to finish a few things so that I will have an excuse to buy more minis.

Mine! All Mine!!!

The Tucson Miniature Show was today(and Tomorrow).  They have changed the name of the club, since I used to belong.  It is now Southern Arizona Miniature Entheuists.

I spent a couple of hours and a few bucks...OK and a few more bucks...And more.

Spike was the recipient of a new, hand crocheted doggy ball.  And a couple of new friends...One is an English bulldog puppy...Of course tradition demands that he be named "Winston".  And the girly one will be(according to Tessie), Matilda....Don't ask me why...It was her choice.

The same lady that did the doggy ball also did some doilies.  I have purchased from her before.

Her name is Laurie Miller Landa.   She is an IGMA Artisan and her work is wonderful. I crochet that small, but it would take me ten times longer to do it than it does her.  Her prices are very reasonable for the time it takes to do it.

Debbie Laue of Dragonfly International had loads of Bespaq furniture and I splurged on that.

That was priced lower than a lot of other places that carry it.

They won't all be used in the same setting.  Tessie spotted those.  Immediately invited Matilda to sit on the sofa.  I think that Tessie likes her because she does what she's told.  Unlike Spike.

The two slabs of stone were on another table.  They will either be table tops or jewelry.  Still to be determined...

Actually, this photo should be first.  I always make a B line for the club garage sale table.  If you get there early, there are lots of goodies to be had. 

The wardrobe at the back was priced at a dollar, as was the kit for the director's chair.  Now Tessie has two of those.  Just what she needs... Now she won't have to zap her director's chair as much.

The two splits of tan leather were 1.50 each.  One of the other tables was selling the same thing for 7.00!  The silk was 50 cents.  Not bad for a few minutes digging.

Anyway, a good time was had by all.  Even the ones that stayed home and grabbed when I got out of the car.  I am off to make plans for some of the pieces now....
