Never Give Tessie a Needle.....

I started working on cleaning my room again this morning...Maybe that should be "continued the never ending job of cleaning my workroom".

While I was doing that, Zar volunteered to cut wires for more wicker.  Between the two of us, we got all of the stuff together for eight chairs.

He found that using a pair of utility scissors from the Dollar Tree was way faster than the usual jeweler's flush cutters.

With those, you can cut a bunch at  time and if he ruins them, we can just go buy another pair...$1.00....

I glued the wires in one of the chairs and he started weaving...Tessie decided that it would be faster if she waxed and fed the wire to him.

I am not sure that was a good idea....She is a great backseat driver...
Last night, I made the mistake of letting Tessie have a turn at the rug...

In her infinite wisdom, she decided that there should be stripes in the middle....

Actually, they are starting to grow on me. Each stripe is four rows of weaving...That will give you some idea of how condensed the weaving is when it is finished.

My big problem now is Bunny.  He has decided that the rug on the loom makes a great trampoline! At least we won't have to test it for strength with him around.

See you tomorrow.

Weaving and Weaving and Weaving....

This morning I got up and finished the bunny hutch...Now where's the cat going to sleep?

I eliminated half of the wires as I went up and when I got where I wanted to go, I wrapped the wires with the thread around the top and curled the ends. Then I put a braid around the door.

So much for that experiment.  It was fun and Bunny likes it.
I used all of the rolled magazine sticks that I had done and got this far last night.  It isn't easy twining with Widget sleeping in the basket.  I couldn't keep him out....

This morning, when I wanted to take a photo, he was having none of it.  Bratty cat!

I am up as far as the top of the window in the back.  I am adding in new weavers to go up from there.

The end is in view...It had better be.  Widget wants his house and he wants it now...Cats and bunnies are all the same.
I went back to the rug this morning.  Its not too bad, considering that I have a limited choice of crewel wool.

As I said before, this could take a while.  What you see is about a hundred rows.  It's not quite an inch high. The side that you are looking at will be the back.  That's the reason for all of the little ends sticking out.  They will be trimmed after the rug is complete.

If I ever want Tessie to join in the weaving, I had better get back to the workshop.

She's waiting and wailing...."I want my workshop and I want it NOW!

Cats, bunnies and Tessie....All impatient.

See you tomorrow.

Back to the Future....

OK...Back to work.  I laid out all of the stuff from Black Market Minerals...I guess I should start making things.  I got carried away.  The Terrible Two and the Mini Terrible Two(Spike and Bunny) have all joined forces to see how many of the pieces they can get away with.  I would call them the Fab Four, but that's already taken...

I did manage to make a couple of wire wrapped rings yesterday...I need a LOT of practice a that.

I decided that, if I am going back to mini work, I have to finish cleaning up the workroom.  I have a pretty good start this morning.

I talked Tessie and the gang to join in the put away brigade.  That lasted about two minutes.  I turned on the TV and that was the end of help.

Tessie zapped comfortable chairs for everyone and they turned the channel to "The Bourne Legacy".

At least they are distracted enough that they aren't bothering me whilst I work.  I am doing pretty good so far...

I made a move.  Under threat of bodily harm from Tessie and Zar, I put the Weaver's Workshop in the bedroom so that I will be able to work in it for a while.

So....It looks like that is what is going to be the center of attention for a while.

They finished the movie and I found them in the weaver's workroom.  I guess that I had better finish the workroom and get started on the workshop.

I am off to kick the Terrible Two out of the workshop.

See you tomorrow.

Working While Walter Plays.....

Actually, we are playing too...

First of all, Tessie demanded a "new" hairdo.  Strange thing is, it looks just like her old one...She just didn't like all of the curls and ribbons.

Now she looks more like herself.
Walter took off for the golf course and the Terrible Two set to work, while I went to forage for breakfast.  They have a breakfast buffet here...Thank goodness, there is also a microwave in the room.  By the time I got it back here, it was cold.

Tessie went to work on a basket tray that she found, half done from our last trip.  Zar has been bookbinding.

Spike is supervising and I think that Bunny went back to sleep.  Lazy rabbit!
After breakfast, I got out my rug box.  No...I still haven't finished the rug for the craft cottage.  I probably won't get a lot done, but I'm trying.

When Walter gets back, I imagine that we will find another movie and go back to AZ Mills to shop some more.

Not a very long entry, but I have places to go and rugs to make.

See you tomorrow.

This Is a First....

I am doing this on the new laptop that we got a few months ago!

Walter did the figuring out and I am following his example. I am mean.  I talk him into the figuring out part.  He's good at that.

I uploaded the photos and everything!  And it didn't go up in smoke or explode...Yet.
It was kind of an emergency.  We are going up to Scottsdale for a couple of days. We figured out hat weekends don't have to start on Friday, now that he is retired.

Tomorrow's the day.

I got ready by cleaning out my traveling work box.  Tessie got ready by climbing into and claiming a section of said work box.

Zar grabbed a spot in the camera case, as protector of rechargeable batteries.

For some reason, Spike is nowhere to be seen, but Bunny is not choosy. I do hope that there was no foul play or locking dogs in closets involved....
I'll bet you thought that I forgot about the dying of thread...Nope.  It took this long for it to dry.  The humidity is ridiculous at the moment.  It took three days and counting.

I should be able to wind it into balls later today.  Maybe I will take a nice relaxing piece of wicker to work on and leave the Terrible Two + Bunny home to fight it out.

After all.  I can close neither the work box OR the camera case with the Terrible Two involved.

I guess I should go see if the thread is ready for winding now.

See you Tomorrow.
