Life Goes On....

Tessie and Zar are enjoying the morning on Zar's rooftop deck.

I was not invited...

Eskiaga and Zar's ex maid are enjoying lunch and chatting in the Southwestern Room box.  I was not invited...
Einstein and friends are chatting on his front porch... and where am I spending my time....???

I am still knitting my fingers to the bone... The sock that you see to the left still has two and a half inches to be  done! Then on to the second one.

I have to stick to it! See you tomorrow.

Not A Lot Done....

Actually, I did get a lot of the sock done.  I am down to the last half inch before the toe decrease of the first one... Then I have to do it all over again!

The way I am going, I may have to look into the two socks at a time method of doing things! That involves a LONG circular needle... Not sure that I want to do it. I can't quite see how that saves time... You are just doing both socks at the same time and it still takes you the same amount of time, as far as I can see.
I have been moving things around the past couple of days.  Zar's  Den in a box came to rest in the bedroom by the phone.... He is already complaining.  He wants to switch places with the phone.  He can't see the TV unless I switch the positions.

He is worse than Tessie when it come to wanting to watch whatever is on.  If the TV is on, he is in front of it.
Tessie actually cooked his breakfast this morning... Now he is hounding her for lunch... Dinner or whatever else she is willing to make.

I do wish that she would cook for me once in a while... No... Wait.... I don't want the whole kitchen in a mess. I will do the cooking.  At least I am only cleaning up after myself if I do it.

Back to work. See you tomorrow.

Cheating Just a Little...

I am doing just a few other things today... This sock has to be knitted to the end of the ruler and then I have to knit another one just like it. Seth's brother came back to Arizona for Christmas this year.  He is living in Michigan right now. Not a nice thing to do to an Arizonan!

Anyway, I waited to do his Christmas socks until I could measure his feet.  He and Seth are about the same. Eleven inches long!!! This could take another week or two, but I am determined. Then I will have to start on socks for everybody for next year...  I see a lot of socks in my future.  I want a few for myself too!

I also did a bit of planting this morning.  Actually, I planted this one a few days ago.  I am working on getting some roses back in the yard.  When we first moved here I had four rose bushes and lots of flowers.  Over the years they faded away.  I am starting over.
I also found this one at Walmart this AM. I think that a lot of you have been around long enough to know that I am fascinated with Euphorbias. Unfortunately, the pot that it came in just said Euphorbias/Assorted... I am going to have to see if I can find a photo on line to see if I can identify it.(more time spent out of the workroom!) Nope. I am not going to look for it now.  I am going back in the workroom and start sorting again!

Tessie is following me around with a whip and a chair.  Help! I am being harassed!

Back to work now.  See you tomorrow.

Clean? I Don't Think So!!!

I have been cleaning and knitting.  I have this much done of a sock for myself. I like the colors.

It's just plain knitting yarn. Not particularly for socks, but I like it.
While I was doing that and going to a movie, I told Tessie to clean her cottage so that I could take photos when I got back...

When I got back, I ran my fingers over the floors and came up with very dirty, dusty fingers...

She kept saying, "But I did it!".  I could tell just by looking that she was fibbing!

I am not doing any new things for those that can't keep things clean.

I am now going to check on Zar's trailer... If it isn't in good enough shape to take photos, he is not getting anything done either!  I an going on strike until some of those little people do some BIG work! I put the work into the places that they live.  The least they could do is keep them clean. I am officially on strike now!!!

Back to knitting.  See you tomorrow.

Gifts All Around....

Walter got Birthday and Christmas both.  His birthday was Jan.1.  I got birthday and Christmas gifts too. My Birthday is later this month.

Tessie and Zar just got new Sheds for their Christmas presents.

Walter and I got new cars so we made them our Christmas presents and Birthday gifts. We got matching Mazdas. His is a CX-5 and mine's the little brother. It's a CX-3. Mine's a baby.

The mini two got a He Shed and a She Shed.  Each of them think that they got the better deal.  Tessie thinks hers is best and Zar thinks his is the greatest.  To use their words!

I am not going to trade mine for either of theirs and I don't think Walter would either.

Besides, they are both too short to reach the peddles!
Walter got me a gift certificate for Joanne's Fabric and Crafts.  I went over there earlier this week and got yarn.  And more yarn... They were having a big sale on all of the yarn that they carry.

I have been doing some knitting and needed a bag to carry the knitting bowl that Seth made me last year for Christmas.

This is the bag that I made.  The bowl fits in the bottom and there is enough room for a BIG ball of yarn on top.

Anyway, that's about all I have to show you today.  I am going back and work on the Sheds some more now.

See you tomorrow.  With finished sheds!

Still Cleaning out!

This morning, my worktable in the bedroom was piled higher than the top of this photo with yarn... yarn and MORE yarn!

I got the idea to hang it all up in the closet. Kota thought that I was a crazy person... But I did it anyway. And it worked!!!

I went over to Walmart and bought three shoe hanging shelves for five dollars each and went to work when I got home.

Notice the handy little pockets on the outside of the two top shelves. They are on both sides of the shelves. And they are see through so that you can tell what's inside.

The reason that I am showing you this is... I think that that the idea could be used for mini supplies like rolls of wallpaper and fabric.  I don't have all of the holes filled yet, but when I do I will have all of my yarn in one place and easy to get to.  In case you didn't catch on, I have been knitting socks whilst away.

Just what I need to be doing? No.  But it is a lot more fun than cleaning when I get bored.

OK.  So I haven't been doing minis or cleaning either one, part of the time I have been away.

I have to take a break once in a while and sock knitting is a lot more easy to get out and do than building another mini house.

I still have this much yarn to put away in the holes.

Some of it will stay where it is.  The rest will go in the empty holes.  I may have to get one more of the units.  At five bucks a piece, they are a lot cheaper than all new shelves to store the yarn on.

Please be patient.  I will start doing minis again soon.  There are still a few other things that I have to find a place for.  I'm almost there!!!

Tessie is trying to use a whip and a chair to make me do minis.  I am resisting for a few days over the time limit I gave myself. Back to work!

See you tomorrow!

My Bad!

No snow this morning.  I am just being lazy.

I will be posting tomorrow if I do something mini or interesting.  Today I just Knitted my little fingers off.  Tomorrow I will start getting more serious about writing!

Hugs to you all!!!

Keep Her Busy!

I overheard the conversation, so I knew what was coming...

Zar and Tessie came to me a little while ago and told me that they wanted the day off...

I think that they heard me call Witch Barb and tell her that I wasn't coming today. I have allergies that just won't quit!

They told me that I should go clean out some of  My Big Closet... They always capitalize to make a point.

Who am I to complain?
I knew exactly what to do.  I needed to go through the sock yarn and get serious about Christmas present preparation.

I am in pretty good shape for yarn....Probably a dozen or so pair to make...

Then I decided to see how many #2 needles I still had to fill....

I can start seven more pair before I have to start finishing any...

Yes. I know that I should finish some, but that would be too much like accomplishing something.

I like starting things.  I don't seem to like finishing so much.  I will work on some of the ones that I already have started... Then I will start a few more and then finish a bunch.

Yeah.  That sounds like a plan.  I have seven sets of needles.  Seven more pair of socks to start.  Then finish them all! By the way... Don't hold your breath until I am done! This could take a while...

Back to work.  See you tomorrow.

I am Making More Room!!!

I took Zar's rya rug and a pair of Christmas socks to Wednesday Witches today.  I got a couple of rows done on the rug and a lot of rows done on one of the socks.

At this rate, both one pair of socks and the rug will be done by next Christmas...
The pile in the laundry basket is growing... The rest of the room is looking better.

I won't show it to you today.  Maybe tomorrow.
I have decided that all of the little square jars of paint brushes, pencils and tools are not a necessity on the desk.  The first thing tomorrow, those are going in drawers and boxes.

If I do that, I might even be able to do things on the desk top!

Tessie has ordered me to get rid of some of these boxes.

She says that all of the stuff in them could be scaled down and put in empty drawers.

Now all I have to do is find empty drawers to put them in.

Like I said before... Not today... Tomorrow.

See you then.

One More Day!

I didn't get a lot of mini-ing done today.  I got the stitches that you see on the needle done for the rya rug...
I cast on a second blue and green sock...
I waved at Tessie as I flew by a few times.

April and Amare came over and we did kid things. That was more fun than doing grown up things like minis.

Tessie doesn't understand me having a grandson that is more important than she is.
Oh Well....
Tomorrow is my 10th anniversary of the blog.  I have done it every day for that long! I did miss a couple of days, but I went back and filled them in and apologized.

I will have done 3,650 entries and a few extras here and there.

I think that I deserve to play a little here and there.

I have to clean off the worktable in the bedroom before I can do any minis tomorrow.  I will be back tomorrow, but I may just take some of the day off to have more fun.

Back to work.

See you tomorrow.

It's still drizzling!

That puts me in a mood for doing quiet things.

First quiet thing? About two and a half rows on the rug.  I am not sure how big it is going to be until the thread runs out.  I still have quite a bit left.
Turquoise and Fuzzy is done.  I made it to keep the two disappearing remotes together.  It is working well so far... Of course I only finished it last night.

Ask me about a week from now where the remotes are... I will have no idea. Oh well...
I also started re-doing some of my memory wire bracelets.  They were all on round shaped memory wire.  Walmart is carrying some that is oval shaped now.  I like that better. It is more comfortable on my wrist.

This is one of my favorites.
The rain has been doing some good.  My berry plants are all happily growing new leaves and the strawberry plant has five berries on it so far... Now if I can get them to grow up and turn red, I will be a happy camper.

Wish me luck.

See you tomorrow.

I Won't Loose Turquoise and Fuzzy!

I am very good at laying down the channel changer and Roku remote and not remembering where they are... I am about to solve the problem.

I got out my handy dandy knitting needles and a ball of fuzzy turquoise yarn.  I am knitting sleeves to slide both remotes in. No more losing...

There may be a bit more knitting though.  As soon as the terrible two saw what I was doing, Zar wanted a new fuzzy blanket and Tessie wants a new fur coat...

I am hoping that there won't be enough yarn left for either one...
As far as cleaning goes, I didn't get much done today.  It is raining outside.  Good for the garden, but bad for the workroom.  It is cold in there and I didn't want to stay.

I did get the top shelf of this unit cleaned out.  It doesn't look any better than it did, but a least I can find things in there.  That is, everything is in the right box.

I am stopping for the day.  Maybe it will be warmer in the workroom tomorrow... At least I hope so.

I want to get back in there and get some more stuff straight.

See you tomorrow.

I Want That In My Size!!!

Here we go again.  Tessie saw the watch when I got home from the Wednesday Witches meeting.

She immediately announced that she wants one like it in her size... I really don't think that they make watch faces in a size that would fit her.

Dream on Tessie my girl!

When I told her no to the watch, she tried for this pendant that is recently wire wrapped.

Maybe with really fine wire and a tiny pebble of a stone, I could reproduce this one... I am not going to try right now...
I am making progress on Christmas socks for next year.  Just a toe to go on this one.

I think that I am going to stay inside tomorrow. It is supposed to rain.  Maybe I can get a lot more done in the workroom.

I am thinking of moving a couple of things around in there.  The desk may just make a right hand turn.  I have had it that way before and liked it.  We shall see...

See you here tomorrow with changes!

Not One Mini!

It was one of those days.  Neither Tessie or myself wanted to go anywhere near minis today.

I spent some time out in the backyard this morning.  Trying to get things going.  It won't be long before I have to start planting things.

Tessie refused to help.  She said it was too cold.  She stayed inside watching the clock and kept reporting to me the time...

About 10:00 I started playing with the new Instant Pot.  I have only made two things so far, but I think that, if I keep at it, I will conquer it.

Later, Tessie did agree to help me clean out one of the boxes of jewelry supplies... That lasted about 5 minutes.

She stayed long enough to see that there were no supplies for making mini jewelry and then disappeared.

Actually there were some in there but she missed them.  I certainly wasn't going to call her back and show her.  That would lead to making her some new jewelry... Not happening.
I then went to the kitchen to make something for dinner and she proceeded to work on my socks....

Well. She may have worked on them, but she certainly didn't get more than an couple of stitches finished.  Certainly not a whole sock!

I think that I will go work on those some more before bedtime.  Back to the needles.

See you tomorrow.

A Little Mini...

Hey! I did minis.  I did a row and a half on this rug! I know that isn't much, but it's better that nothing!

Walter went golfing this morning and I went to Walmart and bought a new Instant Pot.  A month ago, you could have asked me what an Instant Pot was and I would not have been able to answer the question.  I started seeing them on Pinterest and now I have one.

I managed to actually take it out of the box today.  Maybe tomorrow, I will try it out.

Meanwhile, Walter and I both had eye exams this afternoon. Nothing has changed for either of us.  No need for new glasses.

I left Kota in charge.  When we got back, he was threatening Tessie with bodily harm... I think that the exact words were.  "Behave Tessie.  I will bite your head off of your little neck if you step out of line!"

I didn't actually hear him say that.  Tessie repeated it to me when we got home.  I believe her... Kota doesn't mess around when he is in charge!

I did manage to get the heel flap started on this sock while waiting for Walter to get his eyes checked...

No. It's not mini, but at least I got something done.

This is one of those "Flat feet pieces  that someone sent me a few years ago.  Love these things.  They come as flat pieces and you can turn them into anything knitted.  I am liking these socks. Such pretty colors!

Over the past couple of years, Walter has bribed me with a Starbucks treat every time I went to the doctors.

Today we both went to the doctor so we both got Starbucks... OK.  So we both get Starbucks every time, but this time Walter's was legitimate too...

He has his annual checkup on Friday.  I wonder if I get one when he goes to do that???

Anyway, not a lot accomplished today... Maybe tomorrow.

See you then.

A Day Off of Miniatures...

Yes. I didn't do any minis this morning.  And I probably won't do any this afternoon either.

I am on strike.
Instead of minis, I cleaned my closet.  Then I sat Tessie on the door handle to make sure that nobody goes in there and messes it up!

Closet cleaning is not very interesting, but it has to be done once in a while.
I even found a place in the closet to store all of the sock yarn that I needed a place for.

I am going to work on knitting for the rest of the day.  Don't tell anyone!
I can't do anything on the IPad. Kota is sleeping on it.  That's my excuse and I am sticking with it!

I am going to relax the rest of the day.

See you tomorrow.
