Success!

Well, they worked!  I am very happy with the Spanish Tile.

After the glue dried, I painted the whole thing with a coat of terra cotta. 

I still don't have the rest of the rocks on the corners and the edges of the foundation painted yet... One thing at a time.

I cut a piece of the theater tray the length of the roof and bent it in an L shape.  Then I painted it metallic copper.

I went back with a tiny bit of territorial beige for accent.

I still can see some spots that I missed.

I took it to Wednesday Witches.  When I got it out of the car in the sunlight, I could see some spots that I missed between the tile.

I am going to take it out on the back porch tomorrow and repaint it again...

That is, if I feel like it.

Tomorrow, bright and early, I have to go in and have the port that was used for taking the medicine every day when I was doing chemo, taken out.

They make you keep it in for a year, "Just in case".  That is just in case the cancer comes back and you need to go through the treatments again.

It has not returned, so essentially, when this thing is gone, I am back to normal... Whatever that is in my case...

Anyway, I am off to the hospital at 5:00AM. I have to be there at 5:30 and the surgery, which only takes about 15 minutes, can be performed at 7:30.  Here we go again.

Kota, Spanish Tile and Tessie...

Kota does not like to be left alone while we go to the movies... He refused to even look at the camera when I told him that he could be featured in the blog today... So this is as good as it gets when he is disgruntled.

I got home and discovered that I had three theater trays instead of my usual two... I didn't do it on purpose, but two of them were stuck together and looked like one. Honest!

Anyway, I think that I may be able to finish with what I have on hand now... Maybe.

I went to work and cut the edges off.  Now I will trim them as I go, so that they will fit.

So far. So good.

This is what I have left of the edges of the three trays... I think that I may have a few cut tiles left  in the workroom.

I am afraid to set foot in there, after Amare and I cleaned up Saturday... It's back to tying a rope to my ankle, after our cleaning session.

As soon as I finish here, I am going to go try to finish the second side of the roof.  Fingers crossed...

As for Tessie, she is still devouring the Never Ending Cake.  At least she is facing outward now.  I have something interesting on TV, so she condescended.  Turning around is almost automatic when the TV goes on.

Anyway, I had better go glue my fingers together  some more.  Back to work.

About Half Way There...

The  first half of the roof is tiled.  The second half is started...

What you see in my hand is what I have left of the edges... Those aren't going very far. They will probably do about two or three rows...

It's just a good thing that "The Dark Tower" is on tomorrow.  More TRAYS!!!

I got a few more rows done on Tessie's rug.  If I keep this up, I might have it finished before Christmas.

I am loving the colors...

And Tessie? I think that she gave up on potions to get me working on her box. 

She went and got the Endless Chocolate Cake...
At least it keeps replenishing itself, so I don't have to go make dessert in the middle of what I am working on.

I am going back to work and finish using the edges that I have.  That may give me some idea of how many trays I have to bring home to finish the roof.

Spanish Tile for Zar

You know how I love working with theater trays. It always irritated me that I couldn't use the edges for anything...

I win! I found a use for them with Zar's He Shed. 

He is going to have a Spanish Tile roof on his He Shed!

I used the flat part of the tray to cover the foam core. 

If I were doing real tile I would be doing the usual, one right side up and the next one up side down on the rows. 

With this, I am cheating.  I covered the roof with

 the flat stuff and then just started laying the tiles rounded side up.  I cut the tiles a little at a slant towards the top of the tiles, so that the top ones will fit nicely over the row below.  It seems to be working.

At least, since these are on Zar's shed, he is helping... Unlike some other people I know around here... She is just sitting in the Potions Shed whinging and whining.

We are ignoring her.  Let her whine. 

I am pretty sure that this is going to work. I can't believe how many edges I threw away... Now I am wishing I had them all.  I am happy with this so far.

I think that when it is painted, they will look like the real thing... We shall see.

I am going back to work now.
